Update 1.5: Several new indoor spaces have been added throughout the city. This is my last update with new content. Since the mod is still in development, all files are kept as loose files. These scattered files will remain here for anyone who wants to make something of their own.
Now I will continue to work on pre-merging and packaging the mod, which will be uploaded as a new mod. From then on, I will upload patches and updates to fix any bugs that may appear on the page.

Update 1.4:
Added 5 new indoor units, 1 mission, and more city decorations.
- There is a guardhouse at the entrance to add a bit of character.
- Tannery side tasks. The owner has a home with a family, and the quest takes you to a small cave on the edge of the map. I put it there to avoid touching the original navmesh or object so that the pre-merge would stay in that cell.
- Robot shop, you can assemble robots and buy parts without starting the Autonomous Man DLC.

Update 1.3
- Inside the casino, "Atomic Horseman" pays homage to "New Vegas". You can gamble on slot machines. Small slots lock you into animations so you have to exit them to continue gambling, which is annoying. There are two larger slot machines you can’t miss, and they have a button that doesn’t use animation so you can gamble faster. Luck attributes play a role in calculations.
- You can buy emergency bobblehead dolls in hospitals. I wanted something similar to the implants in New Vegas, but since Fallout 4 already had bobbleheads, I didn't want to double the stat bonus. So I put the duplicate bobbleheads into a storage cabinet full of all the bobbleheads. You have to buy the key from the doctor. I left the original bobbleheads untouched for players who want to find them in the world. Picking up duplicate bobbleheads does not increase attributes, so even if you pick up 10 strength bobbleheads, you will only get one strength bonus.
- Random homes of some NPCs.

Update 1.2
A new task has been added.
Eight new indoor spaces have been added:
- Three trailer homes.
- Two cabins. One is big and one is small.
- A factory.
- Apartment outside Washington, D.C., part of a mission.
- New bar. This bar is from another mod, Dugout Inn Of Decay. It was originally adapted from the Dugout Inn, but I changed it into a standalone pub with permission from the original author and made some modifications for the standalone version.

This mod will break Diamond City's pre-merge. They are currently not being rebuilt and are used for testing and easier adjustments based on feedback.
Overview
Polished Diamond is an ongoing renovation of Diamond City designed to transform it from a poorly designed settlement into Boston's true central hub, a place worthy of being called the "Great Green Jewel of the Confederacy."
Like many players, I was always disappointed with the original Diamond City.
It seemed too small, and it never really lived up to its reputation as the so-called center of trade, politics, and life in postwar Boston. It had no real industry, no area for expansion, and a lack of residential space to feel like the largest city in the Commonwealth.
This mod is my attempt to solve this problem.
What this module does
- Diamond City has been greatly expanded. More space, more buildings, more functional areas. I wanted to make Diamond City's role as a center of commerce and small-scale industry more authentic, rather than just a collection of shacks.
The only industrial area currently is a water purification plant, but there are plans to add at least one or two larger batter …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
