Diamond City Outer City Overhaul

Pre-Union is not affected - this mod adds decoration and interiors without breaking optimizations.

Fallout 4 actually only has one major official settlement - Diamond City. However, when you finally arrive, it can feel a little underwhelming. My goal is to transform Diamond City into a true central hub, a large, living settlement worthy of being the heart of the Commonwealth.

This mod expands the appearance of Diamond City with new interior spaces and exterior details, adding depth and life to the area. Discover more shops, homes and hidden corners that blend naturally into the existing city. The surrounding area has been enhanced with new finishes and clutter, creating a richer, more believable atmosphere inside and outside the green wall.

Several new interior cells have been added along the walls, each carefully modeled to match the exterior architecture and scale of Diamond City. The aesthetic is inspired not by Fallout 4's typical "ruins" look, but by the real-world Kowloon Walled City - dense, gritty, and dark, yet vibrant and functional. In 200 years people will be rebuilding with concrete and steel instead of just nailing two planks of wood over their heads.

You'll also find new decorations and little scenes around the city, a hunter camp here, a scavenger there, all designed to feel grounded and in keeping with Fallout's atmosphere.

There are no new quests, this mod is primarily an aesthetic addition that focuses on atmosphere and world-building. It adds people who don't care that you are the only survivor and just live your life and there are some shops for trading. Many decorations are static in design, so you can't simply grab everything and loot for filthy riches.

I recommend installing "TG'z Fens Interiors" which adds 12 new immersive interiors to the Fens area. It will add more life to Diamond City.

Fens Sheriff's Department - Bleachers 2 Compatible I intentionally left the areas affected by this mod unchanged.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
