Thanks to the boss of Stalker in FO4 for the reminder, it has been fixed as an installation package.
Author's words:
Fog Remover II
Improve the appearance and performance of your game by removing indoor fog, mist, vapor, dust, smoke, and airborne leaves and debris.
Fog Remover II is the successor to my original Fog Remover - Performance Enhancer.
Fog Remover II certainly lives up to its name, as it introduces the new Interior Fog Remover, a new grid file of only 226 bytes (53.35 times smaller than the original Fog Remover) and a new compilation method that will further improve performance for most users.
detail:
Fog Remover II works by replacing performance by reducing fog, vapor, dust, smoke and airborne debris with a blank mesh file.
New internal defogger/standalone module option.
All options are now ESL flagged.esp
*See the comments section for FAQs and more details.
Internal defogger details:
Removes fog from every interior cell in the game.
Included in the build of Fog Remover II (Main) and available as a standalone mod.
- This mod has some honeycomb "lighting" edits, see the comments section for details.
clarify:
- This mod does not remove "external fog".
Outdoor fog is created and controlled by weather and can only be removed by editing the weather file, or temporarily via the console command: (setfog 1 999999 or setfog 1 163840 same result)
Compatibility and DLC:
Compatible with weather mods, no known conflicts with any weather mods.
The (major) version of this mod includes internal fog removers, which require the Automatron, FarHarbor and NukaWorld DLC and may have cell conflicts with some localized mods. See the Comments section for a complete list of cells edited by this mod, and the "How To" section for instructions on how to resolve most conflicts.
(BA2) version does not include internal defogger. These versions have no known conflicts and do not require any DLC.
This mod does not:
Edit all weather files.
Disable or delete all files.
VFX preview/pre-composition.
Use the plugin slot for any option.
"Operation Guide":
Step-by-step guide with pictures explaining how to: find and resolve conflicts, how to merge Fog Remover II and Interior Fog Remover into other mods, and more.
Before installation:
This mod is not compatible with any other "fog, mist, steam, dust, smoke or air debris" that changes or removes the mod.
Uninstall any installed versions of Fog Remover - Performance Enhancer or SBW Fog Remover.
- Uninstall any other "fog, mist, vapor, dust, smoke or airborne debris" to change or remove mods you have installed.
Load Order Tips/Easy Conflict Resolution:
Loads to the top of the load order, above any location, settlement or overhaul mod.
Allows any mod that changes cell data to win any conflicts with Fog Remover II or Interior Fog Remover standalone mods.
The worst thing that can happen is some interior fog returning.
- It is very easy to completely resolve conflicts with Fog Remover II, see the How-To Guide for details.
Installation/uninstallation:
The Fog Remover II and Interior Fog Remover standalone mods can be installed or uninstalled at any time without damaging your game save.
All files are in the FOMOD installer. Install using your favorite mod manager.
File details:
All files are ESL tagged .esp(s) which can be edited and sorted in load order but do not use the ESP plugin slot.
FYI: Fallout4 and Skyrim Special Edition can load up to 253 "full" (ESP-marked) files and 4096 "lightweight" (ESL-marked) files simultaneously.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
