Customized combat armor
Now with Synth Armor support!
Currently managed by ParasiteX.
This is a STANDALONE mod that allows you to customize any combat, synthetic armor and safe set in the game!
Tired of a drab green paint job and a boring looking star? Now you can change it! That armor is yours, and what's yours is yours. You'll never see an enemy NPC wearing designer armor. Only those you deem worthy receive honors.
Make changes in-game!
You can change the paint and chest decals on your battle armor simply by using the normal armor crafting table in the game. This mod currently contains over 2800 possible combinations! 50 paints, 4 mix variations, 175 decals and 14 camouflage patterns! Mix and match any paints, decals and patterns. Use different colors of paint on different pieces of armor! Dress up your settlers and followers! Suitable for light, medium and heavy armor! Upgrade your armor with camouflage patterns! Use carbon fiber Fancyness! Shorten leg options to change the look of your leg armor! Or just make the armor completely invisible!

Brokefoot has released some texture replacements for this mod. They look so sweet. Check them out at Custom Combat Paint and Decal Replacers. (very outdated.....)
This mod wouldn't be possible without the textures and efforts created by some very talented modders. Thanks to Agentbrea, Akalor, Bigtalon, Jimmyazzrael, Percephere, Brokefoot, ParasiteX, Reponic and RAMMLOG.
Work helmet light provided by Andysan84.
This mod was created in FO4edit.

future plans
More paint options
Will be expanded to leather, metal, marauder and naval armor if there is interest (will require considerable effort to implement, so don't expect it to happen anytime soon)
How to enable modding
Navigate to your Fallout 4 folder at "Documents/My Games/Fallout 4"
In this folder you will find many .ini files.
Open (or create, if missing) Fallout4Custom.ini using your favorite text editor (I use Notepad++).
Add the following lines to Fallout4Custom.ini
[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=
Save and close Fallout4Custom.ini
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
