About this mod Machine translation

about

Adds a new standalone Workshop Power Radiator object with an effect area customizable in-game.

Access this mod object in the workshop menu: Power > Connectors & Switches.

What are power heat sinks and what are they used for?

Power radiators power passive power objects, such as surrounding lights.

There are several workshop objects that behave similarly to power radiators. Towers and connectors are part of it.

compatibility

This mod does not replace any vanilla assets in any way.

It should be compatible with anything.

Install

Use the mod manager of your choice. (recommended)

how does this work

Build customizable power coolers. By default it will affect the area of 500 gaming units, the same as the vanilla gaming cooler.

To change the size of the affected area exiting the workshop menu, use the secondary activation button on the customizable power cooler. The following menu will be displayed:

Do nothing: Close the menu without taking any action.

Default Radius: Changes the radius of the affected area to the default value.

Change radius: Enter radius editing mode. A help message appears with further instructions.

Toggle area border: Displays a green sphere containing the affected area of the heat sink. The same one is shown in radius edit mode.

When you select the "Change Radius" menu, a new menu will open asking you to select a percentage.

Each time you increase/decrease in the Edit Mod, the radius value will be modified by the percentage selected here. For example, if you select 50% and then press the increase button, the current area will be increased by that amount. Remember, this percentage is applied to the current radius value and not the default value. You can change this percentage value at any time in edit mode.

Press the activation button while aiming at the radiator to decrease the radius, press the secondary activation button to increase it.

Follow the instructions in the Help message that appears on the left side of the screen.

know the problem

The green sphere used to visually identify the affected area is not 100% accurate, but should be enough to get you the correct information.

While some objects are within range of the radiator, they may not receive power. To fix this, grab the effect object or radiator in workshop mode. If this doesn't resolve the issue, make sure the object is actually in scope.

uninstall

If you do need to uninstall this mod, please follow these steps:

If you have any other mods that depend on this, please see their uninstall instructions first.

Go to each workshop (Settlement) and manually clear every object you placed for this mod.

Save your game.

Close the game.

Delete the mod files from the game folder.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
