The Fallout Instrument Pack is a neat mod that lets you add different instruments to your settlement. You can play them yourself, command followers to play them, or assign settlers to play them for musical immersion and extra "happiness" scores.

The downside, however, is that each instrument only has one rather bland and repetitive track.

With the plugin package, you can now easily add your own custom tracks by simply dragging and dropping the .wav files into the appropriate instrument folders and renaming them from "1.wav" to "20.wav". The folder structure is very intuitive.

The only "work" you need to do is to make sure your audio file is in .wav format and (possibly) make sure it is the correct bitrate (48 kbps). Otherwise, you may run into problems. (Also, using too long a track might cause problems...I'm not sure. I'd recommend three minutes or less.

For easy and intuitive file conversion, I recommend using Raxdiam's MultiXwm (. There, you can simply convert .mp3 files (or .wav files if you're not sure about the bitrate) to .xwm format, and then convert them again to .wav format with the correct bitrate to be sure. This is a pretty foolproof method, as the tool was designed with CK in mind.

Having said that, for the lazy out there (I totally feel like you bro!), this mod is plug and play and will add more variety to each instrument by default. 5 banjo songs, 5 acoustic songs, 20 piano tracks and <> drum tracks have been packaged as demos. Within each folder, you can add up to <> custom tracks of your own to replace them. (I've copy/pasted the only track multiple times by default so that the blank audio never plays.

One little quirk, a known issue: if an NPC (settler) sits down and continues playing long enough, the same track will keep repeating in a loop, so the same song will play over and over again. This is an engine limitation and I don't know how to randomize it... However, every time they get up and sit down again they should play a random track. (This includes PCs and followers. But at least you'll have some variety when you visit your settlement.

The tracks are the IP of their respective artists and you can view the article with links to each track by clicking here (. No copyright infringement intended and I encourage you to check out these talented guys! Glenn Jones in particular is an amazing guitarist (.

The tracks are included for demonstration purposes only, so you have something to listen to (instead of a blank track) if you don't use the custom track right away.

Of course, thanks also to hcgxgrill(, the original modder, it started out as a really cool mod!

I don't have the option to donate my addon pack, I just thought it was a cool idea to share.

Thanks for any kind words and have fun :)

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
