About this mod Machine translation
The Cowboy Repeating Gun is also known as the Winchester M1892. Suitable for those who aspire to be heroes in the Federation.
Prerequisite: Far Harbor DLC
As the title states, the cowboy weapons on this site are indeed not American enough, so today we are giving priority to the inventory of repeating guns.
This mod adds a new rifle to the game: the Cowboy Repeater from New Vegas, also known as the Winchester Model 92.
It comes with custom animations for reloading and lever pulling, thanks to a contribution from hitman47101, who not only let me use his animations, but also provided me with its source files.
Also, a big thank you to Ajhakra for the awesome stickers!
It can be rechambered to .38, .357, .44-40 and .45-70 calibers.
The Cowboy Repeater has arrived in the Commonwealth, thanks to an old entrepreneur named "El Mudo" and his friend, a tough guy named Sue. "El Mudo" is a retired NCR ranger who imports ammunition and broken rifles from New Vegas to make ends meet.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
1 - This mod requires the Far Harbor DLC
2 - I don't use power armor and I never use a third person camera when I'm in combat. So even if the animation should work for PA and 3rd person, if you find a bug please let me know :)
3 - The download section has a bullet count reload patch as an optional file. NOTE: When BCR terminates the animation, it looks a little weird. There is no way to fix this problem without remaking the entire animation for BCR. Maybe one day...
Guns can be crafted at the Chemistry Station. but. . . You can't build a Winchester rifle from scratch! You will actually have to restore a destroyed rifle:
To be able to recover it you have to find an issue of the magazine "Guns and Bullets". Don't worry, there is a small quest starting at level 12 that will lead you to the location of these two items.
---
After level 16, there is a very small chance of finding the Cowboy Repeater in the Predator or Gunner BOSS.
---
"El Mudo" will start selling destroyed rifle versions in his shop after level 21 (although he will sell ammunition starting at level 1).
There is also a unique version of the gun: the "La Longue Carabine", which was once owned by Corporal Sterling, but somehow found its way into the Confederate wasteland. It can be found near the coastal hut, along the path to the north.
The main body has been packaged, BCR and Chinese patches have been uploaded together, and you can choose to install them according to your own usage.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
