About this mod Machine translation

introduce:

After getting back into modding Fallout 4, I decided to revisit my old mod (which was a mashup of alan81512's Ghost Armor and nsk13's Course X-92 Power Suit) and after many requests to make it a standalone/one file, because another request resulted in an unexplained CTD. I decided to make a completely new page since it was completely self-contained and I had to recreate it from scratch, no additional mods required! It has been tested and has not caused any CTD (brand new save with no mods and old save with many mods).

This mod has a suit, breastplate, gloves and headphones, there are many mods:

Suit Colors: Blue Ghost, Orange Ghost, Green Ghost, Red Ghost, and now Black Ghost.

Glow colors: constant glow and breathing glow

Patterns: Zip/unzip suit, head/eye goggles

Dynamic (Scripted): The suit can change to the zippered version during combat/night/bad weather and switch back during day/combat/good weather, the breastplate can only be equipped during combat, and the goggles will go over the eyes when a certain light threshold is reached or during combat.

Night and/or Thermal Vision: The goggles can apply night vision and/or thermal vision when a certain light threshold is reached or manually.

Update (version 4.2a):

Now the black ghost color suits and Pip-boy (very faint glow)

Added additional bodyslide files for remaining items in the mod.

Added welcome screen for new mod users.

Added popup warning system to help you use the mod.

Added Armor reset option in case of script failure and future mod updates.

Ballistic Weave (used in the armor reset option) can now be removed like any other armor mode.

Added patches and tweaks to remove visor blur, reduce armor slots used and use workbenches in AWKCR.

The FOMOD installer has been optimized.

Bug Fix: Lighting effects now work properly on worn and breathing gloves, and the anti-script breaking code has been fixed and improved.

Typos: Some were discovered and corrected.

How to install/update:

Updated from prior to version 4.1: Strongly recommended for sale on all older devices. Clean preservation also helps.

To update from 4.1 to 4.2a: regular updates should work fine.

Install this mod's main FOMOD using NMM and follow the instructions there (everything included - no extra mods/files needed!)

Optional: If you want to use the MCM menu, install F4SE first, then install MCM.

Optional: If you want to modify the mesh to fit your own body shape: install Bodyslide

How to get:

Optional: Follow the quest in the MCM menu at the Chemistry Workbench (can use hints/map maker) or the "Courser Ghost-Specter X-92" pill, or just use the cheat and skip the quest and go straight to crafting.

Each armor/piece can be upgraded with Ballistic Weave at the armorer's workbench (at no additional cost - except for the distressed suit version in the mission).

Each piece of armor can be modified according to the armor workbench model, glow color, glow effect, dynamic state, and visual type. (free)

Night/Thermal/Normal Vision Switch Mode/Brightness can be crafted at the ChemStation and saved in the inventory to be "consumed" in the AID section (without leaving the inventory).

All other settings (brightness trigger, pipboy color, mission options...) can be modified from the MCM menu (or ChemStation's menu pill).

The Auto Night/Thermal Vision light level trigger will automatically activate/deactivate the Night/Thermal Vision overlay, and the google will go over your eyes (notification message telling you the current light level: usually 1-80) if the current light level position is below/above the current setting (I like to set mine to ~5) respectively.

Otherwise, there is a manual toggle night vision modifier that can be set as a favorites menu to a hotkey at any time.

Additionally, you can modify the brightness of night/thermal vision using modifiers as well as 5 levels.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
