Build new settlements almost anywhere!
Conquest is a camping and settlement building mod from the author of Frostfall for Skyrim. With a variety of camping equipment and the ability to build brand new settlements, it's a great companion for both normal and survival mode players.
Build a small campsite to cook, sleep and recharge on the road. Then pack up and head out, or make your mark by expanding your campsite into a thriving, fully functional settlement.
By investing in a new workbench, your campsite will become a full-fledged settlement, with all the benefits and hassles that come with it. Currently, you can build up to 10 new settlements.
The complete in-game readme is included in the "Readme: Conquest" holotape.
How to play
1. Camping
To camp, open your Pip-Boy's inventory screen, navigate to Aid, and select Action: Build Campsite. Leave the Pip-Boy and place the camping supplies on the ground. After placing your camping supplies, you can place other camping equipment using a special workshop menu.
At the campsite, you can build a campfire, place cooking pots, scrap weapons and armor, build tents, place portable generators and lights, sleep in sleeping bags, and more.
Tip: You can only camp if you are far enough away from cities and other settlements.
2. Build settlements
Once you have successfully created your campsite, in the Camping Workshop menu, navigate to Extensions > Workshops. Place the workshop anywhere you like. Once you do this, your campsite will be returned to your inventory and your settlement will be created.
You can name your settlement one of 10 different names, and you can create up to 10 different settlements.
3. Disband settlements
If you don't like the settlement you created, you can dissolve it to free up one of the 10 available settlements. To do this, select Workshop and then Dissolve Settlement. Read the warnings and confirm your choice. The settlement agreement will be dissolved.
Settlement
Since conquest allows you to establish settlements almost anywhere, use good judgment when deciding where to place your new settlements. When going through checkout, keep the following guidelines in mind.
Make sure you build a sufficient number of beds before trying to send existing settlers to a new settlement, otherwise they may decide to leave. If you build a radio tower without building beds, you cannot recruit new settlers.
If you move settlers from a very distant settlement to your new settlement, they may not survive the journey. Try to move settlers from nearby settlements.
Make sure settlers have easy access to and from your settlement area, otherwise you may never see them appear.
The bridges seemed difficult for settlers to understand how to navigate, so new settlements should not be built on them.
Currently, there are no build limits for custom settlements through Conquest. Build responsibly and save often in multiple save slots.
If you build a settlement in an area where you can spawn with enemies, those enemies will still spawn at your settlement location from time to time.
Remember, if you can't find some settlers, create and use bells.
Building new settlements inland should work, but obtaining the resources needed to maintain settlements in buildings may prove problematic. You also don't get map markers on the world map.
Description of supply lines
You can create supply lines to and from conquered settlements as normal, but you will see the message "Loading supply lines..." when the workshop is open. This may take a few seconds as a summary of the connected workshop items is created. Please be patient; the workshop will open (or reopen) in a few s …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
