About this mod Machine translation

Convert Concord's speakeasy into a player settlement.

Update: I (the author, hereafter) have now correctly removed loud buzzing sounds (especially when using the reverb mod). Turns out it's a placed object, not a map property. The two windows at the back were also removed and the floor is now repaired and there are no more holes. I love the post-war look, but they limit creative freedom. Also removed a safe that couldn't be scrapped in workshop mode, and used better objects than the tables used by Bethesda to fill the stair gaps.

Five years ago, FatallyShot released a mod that turned Concord's Speakeasy into a playable home. I always thought it would make a great starter home, so I expanded it to fit me and thought I'd share. Here are the changes I made:

  • Convert the workshop from a motherboard to a regular one, allowing you to build anything you want.
  • Removed holes in walls. I love the post-war cluttered look of my home, but hate seeing the big holes between rooms. There are still a few holes in the floor and ceiling, but the rooms are sealed.
  • Removed all light sources. Speakeasy bakes in the light and looks great in vanilla, but will remain even if you place your own light source. I removed all the lights so when you enter the place is completely dark. This way you can add your own lights to make it look prettier. The screenshot I made has lights in it so you can see the house.
  • All windows were removed and all decorations removed from the walls. They are not scrappable, so I cleared them and let you fully customize them yourself. I also removed all the non-s scrappable items from the building so you can craft whatever you want. Initially, I planned to replace them with closed windows to match the exterior, but when I realized that the exterior windows didn't match the interior anyway, I thought I'd remove them entirely to customize further.
  • There used to be two rooms to enter: the room behind the back room on the first floor, and the farthest room on the first floor. These were cleared out and turned into empty closets.
  • Added chemistry, weapons and armor workbenches.

I highly recommend using this mod - Subsidence Power Overhaul:

Thanks to FatallyShot for creating the original mod, if there are any issues please let me know so I can fix them. I didn't find any issues in my testing.

V1.2 update:

Existing stores are unsafe because they are unmodified. Scrap them and build new ones. (Medical kit, safe, etc.)

Updated to link the crafting station to the workbench so that assets stored in the workbench work when crafting. Several other fixes.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
