describe
Not long ago, a new weather mode was released - Vivid Weathers. This mod adds some new weather types, which is definitely a great addition to every game. Before this, I used True Storm which was incompatible with Vivid Weather, and it was very difficult to choose between the two, and starting with version 1.4 of True Storms, the choice became even more difficult. I hate it when someone or something forces me to choose a different choice. When I need to choose between two alternatives, I choose the third option. This is how the merged patches of this mod work together.
Note though that there is no data loss and not every conflict can be resolved, especially since both mods have four vanilla weather types, which is why there are two types of patches available for installation via NMM:
Real Storms First - Weather data from real storms plays an advantage in eliminating conflicts that Vivid Weathers data rushes through.
Vivid Weather Priority - Weather data from Vivid Weathers takes priority in eliminating conflicts and True Storms data has disappeared.
There is also a concurrent patch for remote DLC, which can actually achieve no data loss, so there is only one remote sea patch.
For the following versions:
Real Storm: 1.4
Vivid Weather: 1.32
Install
Start by installing Real Storms and Vivid Weather if you haven't already.
Then merge patch types and vivid weather seasons with NMM (recommended) or manual selection.
If necessary choose the far harbor patch. Note that the Far Harbor patch also requires the True Storm Far Harbor expansion and the Vivid Weather Far Harbor expansion.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
