Fallout 4 Script Extender (F4SE):

This mod modifies the "Take All" function in a companion's backpack so that it only accepts items other than equipment. If a companion is carrying a firearm, the ammunition for that weapon is also excluded from Take All, so no trouble.

It contains only one DLL file and no ESP, so it is safe to add or remove at any time.

Notice:

The function of this module only applies to companions currently traveling with the player, and does not apply to companions who are in a disbanded state.

If you use this mod to have multiple companions appear at the same time, this feature will apply to all companions.

This mod only works on old generations.

Version 1.1 + 1.1.1 Updates:

(1.1.1) Keep Stimpak now also has robot repair kits for its robot companions.

(1.1) Fixed a bug where trading with NPCs during certain actions would take away all of their equipped items.

(1.1) Added MCM menu. You can now configure multiple settings under the Companion Collection tab. See description below for details.

If you wish, you can configure multiple settings in the MCM's "Companions Take All" menu, but this is entirely optional.

This mod will work instantly in vanilla Take All even if you don't change any settings.

shortcut key:

You can use "Take All" or "Keep All" in the NPC's inventory window. These shortcuts apply to all living NPCs regardless of the target settings below.

Target:

Selecting which targets will enable the "Take All" feature when pressing the vanilla "Take All" key. You can choose not to use "Keep All" at all, or apply it to all NPCs, including companions.

reserve:

If you want to leave behind Stimpaks or explosives, enable these options.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
