About this mod Machine translation

The "Collector's Guide" adds the [Collector's Guide] item to the player's inventory, which can initiate the following quests:

  • Guide: "Amazing Stories" Magazine
  • Guide: "Grognak the Barbarian" magazine
  • Guide: "Guns and Bullets" Magazine
  • Guide: "Hot Rodder" Magazine
  • Guide: "La Coiffe" magazine
  • Guide: "Live & Love" magazine
  • Guide: "Massachusetts Journal of Surgery" Magazine
  • Guide: Miscellaneous Bobbleheads
  • Guide: "Picket Fences" Magazine
  • Guide: "RobCo Fun" Magazine
  • Guide: S.P.E.C.I.A.L Bobbleheads (+ "You Are Special!" Book)
  • Guide: "Taboo Tattoo Magazine"
  • Guide: "The Story of Junktown Jerky Vendor" Magazine
  • Guide: "Tesla Science Magazine" Magazine
  • Guide: "Total Hacker" Magazine
  • Guide: "Today's Tumbler" Magazine
  • Guide: "American Covert Operations Handbook" Magazine
  • Guide: "Unstoppable" Magazine
  • Guide: "Wasteland Survival Guide" magazine

"Collector's Guide to Far Harbor Addon"

  • Guide: "Islander's Almanac" magazine

"Collectors Guide to Nuka-World Addon"

  • Guide: "SCAV!" Magazine

Bootstraps are added to the player's inventory as soon as the player exits Vault 111 for the first time (or immediately if the player has passed the stage).

By clicking on a guide, the player can choose to start the relevant mission or remove the guide from his inventory.

Once the mission has started, clicking the guide again will provide the option to stop the mission permanently.

If all related tasks are completed, the guide is automatically removed from the inventory.

Each relevant mission provides map markers to find its objectives.

Warning: Because target screen updates are effective in an unmodifiable manner, it is recommended that after you choose to launch one or more guides, you allow all target screen updates to appear before performing actions that may trigger the screen message. Launching many guides at once is okay, as this mod manages its own screen update messages.

However, triggering screen updates unrelated to this mod while the guide's initial objective update is still incomplete may cause the following temporary visual issues: some objective updates may be queued and appear the next time a screen update is triggered by anything.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
