background:
The CMMA (Commonwealth Minutemen Arms mfg.) MR39 "Riveter" machine gun was an evolved automatic rifle based on the original Chauchat light machine gun, developed as a stopgap wartime expedient in the late stages of World War I, and was the first light machine gun to be widely adopted. The Rivet Gun was the result of numerous remodellings, modifications, and simplifications from pre-war collaborations between civilian enthusiasts and small gunmakers, solving most of the design difficulties while remaining a weapon simple to produce and function. Surviving examples were later discovered by survivors in the harsh post-war wastelands.
The Rivet Gun's reputation lies in its controlled and accurate automatic firing of long-range continuous bursts of full-power rifle cartridges with a steady and crisp rhythm. Unlike the original Chauchat, it was modified to fire the common 308 round and had a closed-bolt short-recoil action and longer bolt travel, maximized by its non-bottoming telescopic bolt; reduced recoil, but offset by the low rate of fire. It retains a simple solid metal tube mated to a sheet metal under-receiver construction, a familiar set of trigger grips close to those of an AR15, and a front seat with a simple trigger group with only two modes.
While generally considered unfriendly to modifications, its simple yet ramshackle design offers flexibility for gunsmiths who know what they are doing, including using civilian 20-gauge 2.75-inch shells as a shotgun, or 45-70 government cartridges for hunting. It was adopted by the Minutemen for a short time, with heroic efforts replicating them on a large scale, intending to standardize their equipment at the height of their power before the castle fell.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
