About this mod Machine translation

In vanilla Fallout 4, human boys and girls share all of their meshes and textures, except for their body textures. Additionally, ghoul children only have male textures, not female textures. This mod changes the .esp and some loose files. Each type of child now has unique body and hand textures and meshes, located in data/textures/ChildrenExtended and data/meshes/ChildrenExtended.

Currently, the only real benefits this mod offers will be users of Abbalovesyou's playable children, who will now be able to create girl ghoul characters with working body meshes and textures, or jenthecopycat's child settlers, since the mod includes female ghoul children. Children Extended is compatible with all these mods and Abbalovesyou's other mod, Killable Children.

This mod is now more of a modder's resource than an actual mod. Installing it will result in no noticeable changes without combining with other mods, as the only non-vanilla asset it includes is the female ghoul child, and there aren't any in the base game. Hopefully other modders will create improved body meshes for children in the future. If you are planning a mod like this and want to use everything in the .esp of this mod, please drop me a message.

In the future I plan to develop this mod and hopefully improve the game Strange Same Kids in more ways. I could expand it beyond children, such as allowing different adult races to use different body models, but the kind of texture issues I think can be solved (such as CBBE breaking female ghouls) are solved in other ways with my other modes, additional body textures.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
