Settlement keyword expansion and settlement keywords
--------------------
The settlement keyword extension is a continuation of the Stuyk framework. SKE is a mod author resource that provides an alternative to adding items to the Bethesda vanilla menu. Using SKE mod authors can provide more options for their settlement projects. More choices mean less clutter in the checkout menu.
The provided file SettlementKeywords.esm will work with some SK mods. This mod does not change any vanilla menus, so it will not conflict with any DLC. The missing vanilla menu is simply caused by outdated menu patches or outdated SK mods that haven't been updated yet. A list of mods that should not be used with SKE is provided below.
Requires Fallout 4 patch 1.6.3 or higher!
Update instructions:
--------------------
Starting with SKE 1.46, I now provide a script menu option. Choose a version that changes settlement records directly like previous versions of SKE, or choose a version that uses Papyrus scripts to add SKE menus. If you select the script menu option and plan to uninstall SKE, remember to make and use uninstall chem to remove the script menu properties from your save game.
Starting with SKE 1.51, the script menu option now offers Menu Restore chems. They will add a separate SKE menu like the version previously offered, as well as a multi-menu option similar to DOOMBASED offered by SKI.
DLC compatibility
--------------------
SKE is compatible with all DLC including Nuka-World.
Mod author
--------------------
Styuk made a Google Document on how to use it in your mods. Like Stuyk, I also recommend that you don't create new form lists, FormIDs, keywords, or change menus.
Mod User
--------------------
SKE may be required as a resource for the mod you are using. Check the author description page to see if patches are required or available. If no patch is available, you will need to create one using FO4Edit. To learn how to create patches that resolve and override conflicts, you can download the xEdit (meaning all versions) training manual here. It says Rough Draft that it was originally designed for FO3/FNV, however, the FO4Edit UI is the same, so you can still use it to create patches. Section 4 discusses how to resolve conflicts.
Install
--------------------
SKE does not require any DLC content. SKE is a completely standalone mod that does not require users to install Stuyk's SK. The SKE patch requires the original mod to be installed. Download and install the original mod and overwrite the old ESM or ESP file with the one I provided. The original mod will provide all scripts, meshes, textures and anything else the mod needs. I only provide replacement plugin files.
uninstall
--------------------
If you choose to use a script to add the SKE version of the SKE menu, be sure to make and use chem before uninstalling manually or using NMM. Another SKE version that doesn't use papyrus script to add menus without chemicals.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
