This mod adds the machine gun and machine gun backpack from Fallout 3 to Fallout 4.
Features:
Faithfully recreated Fallout 3 style machine gun
Adds a Fallout 3 style backpack to go with the machine gun, which will be equipped whenever you equip the machine gun, same as in Fallout 3
Added 2 unique machine gun variants to the vendor: Eugene from Fallout 3 and the CZ57 Avenger from Fallout: New Vegas. They have unique liveries/backpacks.
The Eugene can be purchased from Arturo in Diamond City, and the CZ57 Avenger can be purchased from Cricket in Bunker Hill.
Fallout 3-style 5mm ammo crates have been added to Fallout 4 as a replacement for the original 5mm ammo crates.
58 new animations, including first person, third person, power armor and super mutant animations (Fallout 4 animations didn't fit the Capital Wasteland machine gun controller, so I had to create new animations)
13 weapon mods, including faction-based paint jobs with unique textures
There are 2 versions of the file:
Option 1 - Replacer: Replaced the Fallout 4 machine gun and 5mm ammo box with the Capital Wasteland variant, also added 2 unique machine guns to the vendor.
Unfortunately, this replacement won't work without .esp, as Minigun requires .esp for the backpack and some of its mods to work properly. If you have a mod that modifies the original Fallout 4 machine gun, please do not use this replacer, use the integrated version instead.
Please note: If you choose to use the Replacer version, the machine guns you picked up/discovered before installing this mod will appear damaged/missing parts. This can be easily fixed by taking the damaged machine gun to the workbench and changing all its mods to the "standard" version. This will only happen for machine guns discovered before installation, machine guns encountered afterward should spawn correctly. If these issues still persist or bother you, I encourage you to try the integrated version.
Option 2 - Integrated: Added machine guns, 5mm ammo box changers and 2 unique machine gun variants for various vendors, with the opportunity to spawn anywhere a normal machine gun can spawn, such as super mutants and other enemies.
NOTE: The backpack requires F4SE to appear on you when you are inside power armor. If you don't have F4SE, the backpack will not be equipped with power armor.
Known issues:
The machine gun and machine gun backpack may get clipped into some clothing/armor, this is unavoidable due to the shape of the machine gun and the large number of different clothing items.
Equipping a machine gun rarely leaves you with an incorrectly equipped backpack. This can usually be solved by unequiping and re-equipping the weapon.
Super mutants may twitch their arms when firing their machine guns, this is a vanilla Fallout 4 bug and not a result of this mod.
Before the replacer is installed, using the replacer version in a save where you have picked up/find the original machine gun will cause that machine gun to appear damaged. This can be easily fixed by taking the damaged machine gun to the workbench and changing all its mods to the "standard" version.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
