Original address:

Prefix:

Far Harbor

Nuka World DLC

Updated on August 23, 2026:

Updated the Chinese address of Station B on December 8 (including demonstration video):

Updated script backup file on September 19th: Contains the script file as a loose file for the 1% of people who, despite following the instructions mentioned in the description, still do not choose to repair the boar. It has now been repackaged and uploaded together with the following files.

The main file is now packaged, and the low-cost and free riding patches and performance patches (use this patch if frame drops occur after installation) are uploaded together. You can choose to install them according to your needs.

I (original author KriticalGuy, the same below) have always liked the comfort and warmth of Far Harbor Town. But it was missing something to complete its look and make it stand out; and that thing turned out to be...a cable car!

Before installation (important):

Make sure you are on:

  • Any interior area (including far ports)
  • Or anywhere outside Far Harbor (e.g. Federation map or Nuke World)

Otherwise the rebuild script will not initialize properly and you will have a bricked mod.

How to build:

Similar to how The Rebuild Collection works, you simply walk into Longfellow's cabin, turn on build mode, and repair the new panel on the wall to the left of the entrance. That is, if you have the resources you need. But don't worry, if you're lazy like me and want quick results, I've provided 2 patches, one lowering the requirements and the other removing the resource requirements; it still requires 1 cap though, nothing is completely free in the post-apocalyptic world.

Now you can admire the beautiful town of Far Harbor from above!

How to use:

Once you've built the cable car, just head to the bottom station and interact with the robot merchant, who will sell you tokens (you can find some around the station if you look hard enough). After getting the token, press the call button to enter the cab and insert your token into the token box and you will start moving. If the cab does not exist, you can call it using the call button.

load order:

Load this before any mod that adds its own Precombine/Previs data (such as PRP or The Rebuild Collection).

Performance:

Since all major structures are marked as Full LOD some users may experience performance issues, I personally ran it on a very old device and there was no performance drop compared to before.

FAQ:

Q: Is this compatible with next-gen updates?

Hit: Yes.

Q: Is this compatible with Previsibines Repair Pack or The Rebuild Collection?

Answer: Yes! But make sure to load my mod before these.

Q: Some trees are passing through the cabin while traveling.

A: They are part of the Precombine/Previs system and we cannot do anything with them. If I tried to do this it would break the game and you would start to see things in and around Far Harbor disappear and your FPS would drop drastically. No, Base Object Swapper doesn't work either.

Q: Is this compatible with XY mod?

A: Give it a try and see if it works, if something breaks, fiddle with the load order.

Acknowledgments:

None of this would be possible without the following people, so show them some of your recognition, too:

niston: Kudos to the script magic behind how the cable car actually works.

AidanWatts3D: The inspiration behind the cable car model and the entire project.

tenhats & Glitchfinder: Rebuild script.

Aurelianis: Reconstructing Ideas

The inspiration behind RoNin1971: Lever Switch

DJMaesen, [imai], plaggy, abdillaamy: some assets.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
