About this mod Machine translation
It adds a unique faction to the world called "Bounty Hunters". You can find them randomly in several places including towns and the Drumlin Diner. Once you find "The Gardener" in the Diner and talk to him, "Crime Tracking" will begin. If you do too many crimes or stuff that makes other factions angry, you might get a bounty. A team will be sent to kill you or knock you down and steal some hats. Hunter classes are all designed to treat players in a unique way, with their own weaknesses. Once you're knocked down, this veteran will try to steal 10% of your caps from you. Any bounty hunters who steal anything from you will be marked as "protected" so that only you can find them again and get your stuff back if you choose.
But that's not all! You can't get a bounty without a bounty! If you manage to get respect from the gardener, he will be open to receiving the bounty. Rewards are tiered. The higher the level, the greater the risk and reward. All bounties are replayable and describe new objectives and locations. Higher levels require trust and availability over time. Earn trust by doing bounties and lose it by failing bounties or murdering leaders who have ambushed you in the past.
But that's not all! If you show that you are a competent Man Hunter, the Gardener will grant access to his inventory of epic models and skills. Epic mods can only be crafted by using his parts, some skills in the area, and a small set of CompressedTungstroniumThatCanOnlyBeObtaindeByDoingBounties. With these few easily obtainable components, you can make mods like a *Double Barrel Shotgun Stagger Receiver that will knock back enemies if close enough and possibly knock them down if very close. So cool, almost like a real shotgun!
There's also some new unique faction armor, weapons, unique enemies, unique weapons and AI and a bit of voice acting. This mod doesn't require DLC but if you have them you can use them and make almost no editing to make it compatible with most other mods. It even comes with options and uninstalled holotape. But it doesn't matter.
The crime trail only begins after you meet Drumlin Diner's gardener.
offense:
Murder (killing someone who is not an enemy)
Stealing (taking something that is not yours)
Pickpockets (not your style)
Killed a lot of "bad guys" (who also had feelings)
Stop people (put guns on people and tell them to freeze)
Trespassing (when you are not supposed to be in someone else's house)
Assault (hurt someone and then throw your weapon away like it never happened)
Expand/Build Settlement (What? You don't think gunmen and raiders don't think you build a war machine economy?)
They don't appear immediately. It takes about a day in the game (8-20 minutes in real time) to set up hunters and earn bounties before they deploy (so you forget you just screwed up). They also won't deploy until you leave the town or settlement. However, they will follow you anywhere. Leader with your criminal record.
The Bounty Hunter can stun you when you are low on health and steal your hat. Some hunters can steal your weapon from you and use it on you. Anyone taking things is now marked as protected, so only you can complete them and get your shit back. If they knock you down and bail you out, they can find you again. Drumlin Diner is the hub. Or they can shop at Bunker Hill, Goodneighbor and Diamond City, or on the way back to Drumlin Diner.
uninstall:
Use the uninstall feature on holotape. You get a chat with the gardener and can do one at the chemical station if you want. After clicking Uninstall, wait a few seconds and then save your game. You can then delete it any way you see fit. It's worth noting that it's probably a good idea to remove any weapon mods attached to any gun before uninstalling it.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
