background
Riot armor was developed as a specialized version of combat armor and was issued only to selected police departments and the U.S. Marine Corps. Some models of armor have a duster that protects the armor from dust. However, in more urban environments such as Boston, the duster is replaced by a larger protective gorget with additional back plating. The helmet's design has also been redesigned to include more protective plating. Additionally, the integrated optics are more limited, requiring specific West-Tek equipment to activate the vision mode to prevent Chinese forces from repurposing the helmet if captured.
Features
This mod adds a new melee weapon, armor, three new loading screens, and layered armor to the Federation.
The armor is much stronger than combat armor and begins to generate on Brotherhood members and Gunners at level 30. Armor also rarely appears as random loot, on a ghoul wearing riot armor, or on a level 26 merchant. Riot police uniforms can be found on gunmen and vendors of any rank.
The breastplate features multiple faction-based decals to choose from.
Riot helmets can be further customized, with four helmet, seven face, six filter, seven headlight and six eye mod variations to choose from
Most helmet mods can be mixed and matched
Like the breastplate, the helmet also has a variety of decal options to choose from.
Vision mods such as Night Vision or Thermal Vision can only be activated using the West Tek Optics Master, a device that is rarely lootable from Riot Armor feral ghouls.
The new melee weapon, his Riot Baton, does more damage than a regular baton and will start spawning at level 14 wherever regular batons can be found.
Special Edition
This mod adds a total of three unique sets to the game. Each has special effects and upgrades.

Park Ranger Riot Armor can be found on the new ghouls wandering the Far Harbor National Park campground.
The Park Ranger Hat increases Perception and Agility by 1x and has two upgrade levels.
The Park Ranger Jacket increases pistol reload speed, action point regeneration, and outdoor perception, and comes in three upgrade levels
*While EOD has traditionally used Power Armor and Robots, some of their older model suits still exist, forever locked away in warehouses. *
Bomb Squad Armor can be found on a shelf inside the National Guard Armory.
The Bomb Squad Helmet reduces damage while stationary and has two upgrade levels.
The Bomb Squad armor set provides tremendous resistance to blast and fire damage and comes with three upgrade levels.
*Hallucigen was a pre-war company that focused primarily on riot cont …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
