Better Power Armor—Reworked Edition

Your Power Armor will now fully absorb damage from ballistic and laser weapon types. Each armor piece will work individually and absorb damage from the body part it covers. When a piece of power armor breaks, only the covered body part is harmed. Keep your power armor in good condition and it will protect you.

What's a better version of Power Armor - Reworked?

Some of you may know of better powered armor. This is a mod that completely overhauls power armor and protects you from damage while all parts of your power armor are intact. Unfortunately, the mod is buggy and has several issues that I can't fix. If you prefer to use an older version, the mod is still available.

what's new?

The mod has been rebuilt. completely. The damage protection mechanic is now coded into the F4SE plugin, which takes care of most of the work of the mod.

What is damage shielding?

When you put on your power armor, the power armor absorbs the damage you take. You won't take any damage unless parts of your power armor break or you are hit by projectiles that can penetrate your armor. You become a real walking tank. This mechanism also applies to NPCs, including companions.

What about armor penetration?

Armor penetration is a feature of this mod, and MCM can also be configured.

There are 3 levels of armor penetration:

Low Penetration - 20% of damage penetrates and damages the character.

Medium Penetration -40% damage that penetrates and damages the character.

High Penetration - 60% of damage will penetrate and damage the character.

Current configuration, which can be changed using FO4Edit or user-made patches:

You can easily add ammo or keywords to these form lists using FO4Edit!

NPC XY is too strong! What can I do?

If you are struggling with a quest NPC that you cannot kill because he is too strong, you can also add a keyword with FO4Edit (BPAR_Ignore[KYWD:XX002810]) to patch this NPC. BPAR will then ignore this NPC. BPAR will generally ignore NPCs wearing power armor, these NPCs cannot be destroyed. For example, Colt the Overlord or Dance the Paladin.

What does it look like in action?

As you can see, once armor parts start to break, the player will start taking damage, but only to the damaged parts. You can see this in the last gif. They shot mercilessly, but there were still moments when they missed the exposed arm.

Install

As usual, nothing special. Install using your favorite mod manager.

Requirements: F4SE and MCM

Optional but very useful: Game Configuration Menu (GCM)

Using GCM you can configure the durability of your power armor. Go to the Power Armor section of GCM and scroll down.

compatibility

Not compatible with floating damage or knockdown frames.
