About this mod Machine translation
This is a mod that contains 4096x4096 textures, which replace the standard 1024x1024 textures of the computer terminals you often find yourself hacking and using.
I've now released a 2K version of the texture for anyone who likes it.
I also made three textures:
standard
dirty
even dirtier
For those of you who like the keys and/or key labels but prefer the vanilla look: I've posted a few versions of the keyboard that are only 2K and 4K.
Installation instructions:
Method 1:
- Open Fallout4.ini located in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Documents\my games\Fallout4 and make sure the line 'sResourceDataDirsFinal' contains 'TEXTURES\' (for example: sResourceDataDirsFinal = STRINGS\,TEXTURES\).
- Open Fallout4Prefs.ini located in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Documents\my games\Fallout4 and add the line 'bEnableFileSelection = 1' under the heading '[Launcher]' as described in Gopher's Enable Modding for PC video.
- Use mod manager to download and install the mod. If this fails, try the manual installation listed below.
Method 2 (manual installation):
- Copy the .zip contents to the data folder located in the steam folder (the standard folder is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\)

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
