About this mod Machine translation
Ever find yourself wishing you could have a Deathclaw or Radstag as your loyal companion? Frustrated by the creature "taming" mechanic introduced by Wasteland Workshop?
Beast Master is exactly what you've been hoping for.
Beast Master provides a streamlined, immersive way to tame, command, and interact with the creatures of the wasteland. But more importantly, Beast Master introduces an entirely new biological companion framework, built from the ground up to give you the satisfying companion you thought you could only get from a vanilla companion.
Beast Master allows you to tame creatures captured through Wasteland Workshop by using a new item called a control chip. Creatures implanted with control chips will gain enhanced intelligence and be able to understand human speech, allowing you to talk to them, give them commands, and even recruit them as companions.
Both control chips and advanced control chips can be crafted on the chemistry workbench under "Utility". Just use the control chip to approach the creature you want to tame and select the "Inject Control Chip" option to get to work.
Control Chip > Used to tame captured animals. (Required: Science 1)
Advanced Control Chip> Used to tame captured creatures. (Required: Science 3)
new! Animals and creatures can now be tamed with your voice if you have the following perks:
Animal Friends > Tame animals by talking to them.
Wasteland Whisperer > Tame captured creatures by speaking to them.
*Animals include: dogs, brahmins, radstags, etc.
- Creatures include: Deathclaws, mirelurks, radscorpions, etc.
I want to tame all creatures!
Not so fast! You can only tame creatures caught in Wasteland Workshop cages, or Brahmin or Junkyard dogs brought to your settlement. Cats and Raiders/Gunners cannot be tamed. **Notice! For version 1.1+ you need to capture new creatures for everything to work properly!! **
Can I have more than 1 biological companion at a time?
As of version 1.3.5, the answer is yes! With 1.3.5 you can have up to 2 creature companions at the same time. To recruit a second biological companion, at least one of the following conditions must be met:
The second creature is an animal and you have animal friends 3
The second creature is a creature and you have Wastelander 3
You have a Control Signal Amplifier in your inventory (made by Science 4)
Bring your adventures with you!
Beast Master uses a brand new companion system that will not conflict with any other companion mods. Best of all, this means you can have a human companion (or Dogmeat) and a biological companion!
Give them a new name!
There are 4 name categories, each with 10 different names, for a total of 40 unique names to choose from.
Let them love you by increasing their happiness!
Just like the affinity system for human companions, your biological companions will react to how you treat them. Keep them happy by treating them well and reap the benefits.
Feed them!
Cook special animal treats for your pet in any cooking pot. Animal treats provide small benefits to your creatures and keep them happy.
Equip them with saddlebags!
Certain types of creatures can use saddlebags to increase their carrying capacity. Saddlebags can even be dyed to match your favorite faction.
Dress them up with accessories!
Certain types of creatures can be equipped with hoods or collars. Your pet will be happier when dressed to the nines.
Use body paint!
Creatures with scales or shells can be transformed with different paint designs. Like accessories, body painting also increases happiness.
Check out their stats!
Work with your pet to check on their level, health, weight and happiness.
Let them clear items!
Occasionally, your biological companion will find items while you travel and deliver them to you when you check in. Happier creatures are more likely to clear for you. The types of items they find depend on their race; Mirelurks in particular are attracted to shiny trinkets...
Mark them on the map!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
