About this mod Machine translation
A screen changer, giving Pipboy a thick, chunky glass display with signs of wear, such as gouges in the glass and the protagonist's greasy Fancy Lads fingerprints.
The packaged worn version and the clean version (without scratches and wear) are uploaded together, and you can choose to install them according to your needs.
“The A-Series is a little heavier than some of the more premium models, but it won’t break you out. I bet you could drop a bomb on a guy and it would still work. In fact, I know you can.
While Stanley's anecdote may apply to F3/NV Pipboy, that's certainly not the case with Fallout 4...at least not what's on the screen.
So, I (original author princesscake, the same below) made this screen replacer, which provides Pipboy with a thick glass display.
There are signs of wear on it, such as dents in the glass and greasy Fancy Lads fingerprints from the protagonist; however, I made sure it was fully usable and readable and had no overuse effects. Also worth noting is that in third person, the BB Guy no longer glows green when you're not using it.
Although I designed it for TheFriedturkey's 3000A mod, it will work with any BB-Boy mod that uses vanilla screen textures. It is also compatible with mods that enable full color on the screen.
Installation: Drag the Materials and Textures folders into the DATA directory of Fallout 4, or install via MO2/Vortex
Note: "OLDPipBoyScreen_d.dds" is an old file from the Xbox version and may not be needed, but I didn't want to risk it.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
