Barrel replacement added for battle rifles (compatible with remeshing)
Preface: Far Harbor Nuclear World DLC
describe
This barrel overhaul stylizes the battle rifle barrel into a BAR 1918A1/FN D-barrel, adding a bipod and carrying handle to differentiate the barrel and make the rifle stand out from the shotgun.
Changes included:
Standard short/long: handle only
Lightweight short/long: original plain barrel
Drilled Short/Long: Renamed Balanced Barrel. Carrying handle and center-mounted bipod.
New features
Heavy Short/Long: Improved recoil control. Front bipod and carrying handle
additional
Compensator: Web swap with Far Harbor Lever Action Rifle (required)
Drums: Default and Quick Release
compatibility:
As far as I can tell, this should be compatible with most other mods and battle rifle remeshes, although I'm mainly hoping for compatibility with Dak's upcoming accessory pack. If you find an incompatibility, I can try to make a patch or add it to the incompatibility list.
This mod is compressed to ESL and shouldn't count in your load order (if I'm doing this right). Barrels and barrels have been added to the level list, meaning you'll see them randomly in the world as well. A big reason for this mod is versatility, so for example, if you want an FNV "Auto Rifle", this is your chance to make your own Frankenstein!
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
