XBOX VERSION
Overview
Fallout 4 has a lot of weapons to choose from, but I (Spadey01, the original author, the same below) feel that the battle rifle (never) stands out, especially because the design and purpose of the weapon are very simple and versatile. However, despite this, it is probably the most versatile and useful weapon in the game, capable of taking on the role of a multi-purpose rifle and performing well in any situation.
This mod expands the Battle Rifle by adding alternatives to the Battle Rifle, each with their own personality.
content
Each gun is in some way a variant of a battle rifle, with different receivers and magazines.
The mod includes 5 new weapons, each with different properties, spawning at their own level and using their own ammo types:
- Soviet Submachine Gun (Level 5)
This rifle uses 7.62mm Tokarev and is pretty much a submachine gun. With a significantly increased rate of fire and wide dispersion, this weapon can shred anything in its path
- Co-op Battle Rifle (Level 8)
This .30-06 weapon was formerly a battle rifle and derived its name from the cooperative operation of the gunners in the heat of battle. This gun is considered by some to be the closest alternative to the Standard Battle Rifle due to their similar performance, although the Cooperation Battle Rifle boasted slightly higher performance ratings in initial field testing.
- Paratrooper Rifle (Level 12)
It was intended to be used as a medium-range precision rifle, rather than an automatic rifle, allowing parachutists and airmen to hit targets from a distance. Despite being a cheap way to supply large numbers of paratroopers, it transcended the war market and became an iconic civilian rifle.
- Combat Light Machine Gun (Level 15)
Expensive but powerful, it has a reduced rate of fire, increased damage, and uses the more expensive .303 caliber. While intimidating, it proved too heavy for regular use and was never developed enough to support stick magazines and proper scope rails.
- Anti-Assault Rifle (Level 25)
Later in the war, the idea of adapting power armor-issued assault rifles for general carry began to form. While obviously different, the anti-assault rifle has taken shape and is primarily used as a defensive measure against any enemy assault units. Chambered in .303, this improved Synergy Battle Rifle still packs as much punch as its power armor counterpart, but condensed into a smaller package for more practical use.
Battle rifles and all new weapons have 11 (+4 unique) new attachment options:
- 6 new barrels
- 4 new stocks
- 1 new scope
- 1 new muzzle
Unique Edition
Each variant (excluding anti-assault rifles) has a unique variant
Prototype PCR
The Brotherhood of Steel has been tinkering with some new equipment in their power armor hangars. They inject plasma into regular bullets, making the gun deal both ballistic and energy damage!
Double Trouble
Some people thought it would be a good idea to add a magazine to the ejection port. No matter how high …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
