Introduction

Have you ever noticed?

You are equipped with a weapon with a flashlight. You press the flashlight button while the weapon is retracted...and instead of turning on the Pip-Boy light, it keeps toggling the weapon flashlight.

Want to use your Pip-Boy light?

You must disarm first.

This mod fixes this issue.

The flashlight button now behaves normally.

When your weapon is stowed, it switches the Pip-Boy light.

When your weapon is drawn, it switches the weapon flashlight.

If you put your weapon away while the flashlight is on, the flashlight will stay on until you turn it off.

This is a small convenience improvement that makes using weapon lights feel more natural.

Special thanks to FadingSignal for alerting me to this bug. This is actually the reason why I never used the weapon flashlight in Fallout 4. If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to check out his awesome mods!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
