This batch script automatically cleans all official Fallout 4 DLC and Creation Club add-ons using xEdit's fast auto-clean feature. By simplifying the cleanup process, it ensures your game runs smoothly and reduces the risk of conflicts.
Why clean up your DLC, CC and Mods?
Error Prevention: Mods may introduce errors such as duplicate records, incorrect edits, or missing dependencies, which may cause the game to crash or malfunction. Cleaning up your mods can identify and correct these issues, ensuring a smoother gaming experience.
Performance optimization: As the number of mods increases, the loading time and resource consumption of the game will also increase. Cleanup Mods help eliminate unnecessary assets, reduce system stress, and improve overall performance.
Compatibility Guarantee: When multiple mods are installed, conflicts may arise, causing unexpected behavior or game-breaking issues. Mod cleanup ensures that your mods are compatible with each other, reducing the chance of conflicts.
Install:????
Back up your DLC and CC files to another folder in case you want to revert to stock DLC and CC esm and esl files!
Place the batch_clean_plugins.bat and clean_plugins.txt files in the same file as FO4Edit.exe and FO4EditQuickAutoClean.exe.
Then run the bat file and it will open FO4EditQuickAutoClean.exe and automatically select esm or esl depending on the loader and it will clean them automatically. You simply follow the on-screen prompts to close FO4edit and the script will clean up the next DLC or CC until the process is complete.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
