About this mod Machine translation

This mod brings Augustus Ortom or Colonel Ortom from Fallout 3 into the world of Fallout 4. It has been fully and thoroughly tested.

Pre-requisite: Full DLC

Capital Wasteland Gear Pack Part 2:

Chinese address:

This version of Augustus Ortom:

  • Created using my personal Fallout series headcanon, taking into account content from TTW's Rebuild The Capital mod (e.g. the Field Marshal's position created by it). In Fallout 3, I chose the create third option (headcannon only) and captured Colonel Autumn during the "Take It Back" mission when I confronted him in the Purity Project. Seeing the futility of following the Enclave into the grave, and not wanting to be executed, he changed sides and became loyal to the Brotherhood.
  • is marked as protected, which means you, the player, can kill him, but no one else can.
  • He was designed with his original concept art in mind, although I tried my best to stick to his actual appearance in Fallout 3.
  • He has a Kell's Hat in his inventory, but he is not wearing it by default. I think the hat suits him and his outfit very well. While I'm not adding anything, I will say that a pair of aviator/aviator sunglasses looks incredible on him, with or without the hat.
  • Contains expletives, but the amount has been kept to a minimum.
  • Use AI generated voice lines to flesh him out as much as possible.
  • He is located in Prydwen's hull. He is now the Grand Marshal of the Brotherhood, a member of the Brotherhood's faction, and extremely loyal to Maxson. When you meet him, there is some dialogue where he explains the position of Field Marshal.
  • Includes a section called "Background Information" in the Rehire scene, where Autumn explains in depth why he's in the Commonwealth and connects the events of Fallout 3 to Fallout 4.
  • His "What do you think?" section includes references to the different factions in the game, his thoughts on the Sole Survivor, his loyalty to Maxson, and he also mentions his history as a villain.
  • Can use power armor. Because of the way I scripted it, he'll react differently if you ask him to get out of power armor when he's not wearing it.
  • By default, he cannot be sent to settlements (scripting issue). However, there is a loophole in this. Fire him in a settlement you own, enter settlement building mode, and move him to the settlement. He will then be counted into the settler population and have all the scripts needed to work as a settler.

Please note that this may cause some problems and I'm not entirely sure if he can be returned to Prydwen, so do so at your own risk.

If you have any questions about this mod and how I made it, or have any suggestions on how I could make it better, please feel free to let me know. I'll check this as often as I can to get the hang of it.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
