About this mod Machine translation

unreliable power armor

This mod adds damage threshold to all power armor (like New Vegas). Any damage they take is reduced by a certain amount and then damage resistance is applied. This effectively makes them immune to low-damage weapons without armor penetration.

Thanks to some neat work by Bethesda, NPCs will recognize if they are able to sabotage a target and will flee from it, so if you're in the completely low-level Raider camp in X-01 expect to see most of them fleeing from the terror!

The DT for each fully armored suit is:

Reaver Strength Armor: 10

T45 Power Armor: 15

T51 Power Armor: 20

T60 Power Armor: 25

X-01 Power Armor: 30

This allows powerful armor to be more effective against low-fire, high-velocity fire weapons without significantly changing its effectiveness against powerful weapons such as explosives, sniper rifles, and armor-piercing weapons. Spent a lot of time on this chart to see how DT's protective power armor compares. It's an all-around buff, but not *significantly* so.

If you want to apply this effect to Vertibirds, try Tougher Vertibirds.

Both mods contain a copy of Damage Threshold.esm. If you use them both, you can safely override it on installation.

If you want to add this effect to your own mod, please use the Damage Threshold resource.

Known issues

If your power armor reduces attack power to <0 damage, it will be healed* instead of taking damage (your HP is not increased, only your power armor). This cannot currently be resolved.

compatibility

It is compatible with other mods that modify power armor upgrade slots (such as more power armor mods). It is compatible with other modes that change the effect of Power Armor mode.

It is compatible via patch:

Power armor materials and paint (thanks Draagushnakk!)

Damage type changes (thanks Durkfer!)

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
