Ever wanted a laser gun in a game to look more like a weapon than a brick? Or maybe you (like me, TheBigLidowski) just collect a bunch of fusion cells on your home board because the original laser gun just wasn't worth it? Then I have something for you.
While the AER9 is a completely reliable and sturdy platform, its ergonomics and overall ease of use are still far from ideal. In early 2077, General Atomics demonstrated a prototype replacement to the Army. This modernly designed, highly modular laser weapon system successfully passed all tests and was about to enter series production to completely replace the old AER9, but this was never realized due to the falling nuclear bombs. However, a fair number of new laser rifles were built before the post-apocalypse (even with some changes like special DMR modifications), so this new weapon managed to make it into the 23rd century rather than disappearing over time.

7 launchers (receivers) - divided into 4 tiers, each with mod 0 and mod 1 variants, with mod 1 adding a burning effect - affecting damage and range. Additionally, there is an additional prototype Z1 launcher built by the Institute's Advanced Systems Division - which produces a freezing beam capable of freezing targets to death - which you can obtain using the unique AER15 Z1 prototype available from the Institute's vendors;
3 barrels - standard issue Sitek - has a mounting point for a beam modifier; DMR - absolute accuracy, longer range and higher damage at the cost of a lower rate of fire; Prototype Quad - developed by the Academy's Advanced Systems Division to maximize damage output - four beams, each dealing 0,5 damage, total damage x2;
2 Beam Modifiers (only for West-Tek barrels) - Beam Amplifier - Increases range and accuracy, reduces shooting noise at the expense of a slightly lower rate of fire; Beam Splitter - Splits the beam into 9 broad beams, effectively turning your AER15 into a laser shotgun;
4 Foregrip Types - Default Grip, Magwell Grip, Inclined Foregrip, Vertical Foregrip;
2 Pistol Grips - Marksman Stock and Pistol Grip (adds stock adapter allowing you to choose from a variety of stocks);

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
