About this mod Machine translation

"A Taste of Blues" is a content pack mod inspired by the Fallout: New Vegas Old World Blues DLC that features some familiar (and some new) weapons, clothing, and items.

Happy New Year 2024, everyone~ As shown in the picture, the November 22 expansion pack, Taste of Blues, is a re-creation of the Old World Blues DLC in New Vegas. I know someone has posted it, but the final version of January 23 has not been updated subsequently (not to mention that in 23 years, I basically used my diversion as my own). During the holidays, someone sent a private message to 3×3 asking for the latest version, so I will post it before I get to work.

The Chinese New Year is approaching, and I have less and less time to do triage. I basically read your private messages, but whether I have the conditions to do so is another matter. Please forgive me.

F4SE:

This mod and its assets are not affiliated with any Fallout: New Vegas remastering project.

"A Taste of Blues" is a content pack mod inspired by the Fallout: New Vegas Old World Blues DLC. Here, you'll travel to the X-49 facility, discover its secrets, and find some familiar (and some new) weapons, clothing, and items.

The mission, "In La-La Land" will start after you first arrive at the Sanctuary and tell you where to go. If your character has visited the Sanctuary before installation, the quest should start automatically.

This dungeon can be difficult for lower level players, so level 15 or higher is recommended (however, you can go there at any level).

Prerequisites:

Automata DLC and F4SE.

Contains:

New missions and new dungeons are waiting for you to explore

Unique task icons

14 faithfully recreated new weapons (and 16 variants)

6 new clothing/headgear types

7 new aids/miscellaneous

32 new workshop items (available after completing quests)

2 The Challenge of Returning from the Old World Blues (Related to Dr. Klein and Dr. Morbius)

Over 40+ rewards/recipes/items to find around the dungeon

For anyone who is curious, here is a list of some of the items you will find in this mod:

X-2 Antenna + New Model

Sonic Emitter + Variants

proton ax

Proton Reversal Ax

Proton Throwing Ax/Knife/Spear

Proton Reversal Throwing Ax/Knife/Spear

Thermal spray gun

Spear of Saturn + Overheat

Fist of Saturn + Overheat

Saturn Sled + Overheating

Dashan cross portal ponder! + new variants

pulse gun

Scientist Gloves + Variants

K9000 Cyberdog Gun/FIDO + new variant

hospital gown

Foundry Jumpsuit

Scientist Scrub + Variations

Highlighted Green/Thin Red Paste/Thick Red Paste/Night Owl Squeeze/Night Owl Blood

Valence Radius Accenter/Atomic Valence Triple Radius Oscillator + New Model

It is worth mentioning:

Sonic Emitter uses fusion cells instead of energy cells (to avoid introducing a new niche ammo type). However, the weapon model will still use energy cells.

The K9000 Cyberdog Gun uses .38 rounds instead of .357 rounds (to avoid introducing a new niche ammo type).

Some weapons, such as proton weapons, pulse guns, and others, while not "unique," will have a legendary star next to their name. This is done so that its item description is displayed correctly when inspected.

The prices of most OWB items have been adjusted to avoid disrupting Fallout 4's economy too much.

Known issues:

Sonic Emitter/K9000 Cyberdog Gun and its variants sometimes stop animations. Unequip and reequip will correct this.

Proton throwing weapons sometimes did not have their "Equip" points removed when equipping a different throwing weapon. This is purely visual and can be fixed by manually equipping/unequiping thrown weapons.

Thermal Spear/Saturn Spear weapons are slightly misaligned with the hands in first person, but this is only visible when blocking or at high FOV.

Scientist Gloves and their variants can be clipped to certain long-sleeved or gloved vanilla outfits.

Cazadore boss enemies can sometimes get stuck in certain areas.

XBOX only: K9000 Cyberdog Gun/FIDO/Ch …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
