About this mod Machine translation

Bringing the music from Europa Universalis IV to EU5 - fully integrated into the game's dynamic music engine. War, peace, and cultural backgrounds all automatically trigger appropriate tracks, just like the original game. ———— **Feature Introduction** 179 tracks from EU4 and its music DLC, integrated into EU5’s adaptive music system: ——————• In time of war – EU4’s war tracks play simultaneously with EU5’s music • In peace – EU4’s ambient and atmospheric tracks • Cultural context – Regional EU4 music matches your country’s cultural group: • European countries hear tracks from Britain, France, Holy Roman Empire, Scandinavia, Russia, Iberia • Ottoman/Persia/Egypt/Caucasus → Middle Eastern Tracks • China/Japan/Southeast Asia → East Asian Tracks • India, Africa, and American countries have their own regional tracks————The track names of "EU4" will not appear in the music player list. Music automatically plays in the background based on game status - you'll hear the music change. You can still skip to the next track via the next button in the music player. This is intentional, to maintain the mod's multiplayer compatibility (without changing the checksum). Requirements — Please read before installing 1. Europa Universalis IV must be installed on the same Steam account. This mod reads audio files directly from your EU4 folder - it does not download or redistribute any music. Only tracks from DLC you own will be included. 2. Wwise Authoring Tools 2026.x (free) is required to convert EU4 audio to EU5 compatible format (WEM). No more necessary - the installation script handles the conversion automatically. 3. FFmpeg audio conversion tool. Install via terminal: winget install ffmpeg

Or from 1. Make sure requirements 1 and 3 above are installed. Step 2. In Steam → Right-click EU5 → Properties → Launch Options, paste: cmd /c "curl -sL -o %TEMP%\eu4launch.cmd & call %TEMP%\eu4launch.cmd %command%" Step 3. Start EU5. A setup window will appear and all EU4 music will be converted (about 2–5 minutes). Once completed, the game will launch automatically. Step 4. After entering the game, open the mod menu → enable EU4 Soundtrack for EU5 → restart the game. After the initial conversion is completed, the launch command and FFmpeg are no longer needed - the mod will work fine without them. You can uninstall them, or keep them to automatically sync any new EU4 music added to your game folder. How Music Works EU5 uses Wwise for its entire audio system. This mod patches the Wwise audio library at the binary level - adding EU4 track references to EU5's existing War, Peace and Culture playlists. No EU5 tracks have been replaced or removed.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
