🎮 **A complete tutorial on how to modify the Elden Circle Armor**
📋 Tutorial Overview
This is a detailed tutorial on how to modify armor for the KS Solo Body model. While there is currently no section on creating new armor, the author plans to add this in the future.

🛠️ Required Tools
**Core Software:**
- Blender
- KS Solo Body or basic ER body model
- WitchyBND
- AquaToolset (mainly using SoulsModelTool)
- FLVER Editor
- UXM Selective Unpack
- Smithbox
**OPTIONAL TOOLS:**
- Material folder (used to find the MTD path of the armor set)
---
📥 Step 1: Selective unpacking of UXM
- **Set up UXM**: Open the UXM Selective Unpack software and make sure it points to your `eldenring.exe` file
- **Select files**: Click "View Files" and check the "parts" option
- **Unpack**: Click "Unpack" and the "parts" folder will be created in the game directory.
- **Backup**: Copy the parts folder to a safe location, then return to UXM and click "restore"
🎉 **Congratulations! You now have the main source files for all armor and weapons in the game**
---
🎨 Step 2: Set up Blender
Blender can be difficult to understand at first, but it becomes fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it. The author uses Blender version 4.4 and prepared special blender files for KS Solo Body.
**File naming parsing:**
- **First abbreviation**: fc (character body), fg (face), hr (hair style), hd (head equipment), bd (body equipment), am (arm equipment), lg (leg equipment), wp (weapon model)
- **Second abbreviation**: m (male), f (female), a (universal)
- **Third abbreviation**: Model ID number
**Important reminder:**
- Do not remove any modifiers or vertex groups
- Don't delete anything
- Otherwise the workflow will not match
---
🔍 Step 3: Find and unpack models
Now comes the fun part! We'll start by modifying an existing model.
**Find models using Smithbox:**
- Open Smithbox and create a project
- Find "EquipParamProtector"
- Import the community name to identify the equipment
- Find the equipment you want to unpack and record its model ID
**Unpacking process:**
- Find the corresponding DCX file in the parts folder
- Use WitchyBND to unpack DCX files
- Find the generated FLVER file
🎉 **Congratulations! You have successfully unpacked the DCX file and are ready for Blender import**
---
📤 Step 4: Unpack FLVER and import Blender
**FLVER unpacking:**
- Using SoulsModelTool in AquaToolset
- Drag the FLVER file into SoulsModelTool
- An FBX file and 3 JSON files will be generated (JSON files can be deleted)
**Blender import:**
- Select the "Armor" group
- Import FBX files into the group
- Hide all bones to clean up the view
---
📏 Resize Guide
Resizing is not difficult since the vertex group is already applied and the bone modifier is present. The main problem is that the armor does not fit this body as it is not made by FromSoftware.
**Editing Tips:**
- Use scale editing for smooth adjustments
- Utilize axis constraints (X, Y, Z) for precise movement
- Recommend vertex-by-vertex selection for fine tuning
- Use different selection modes: 1 (vertices), 2 (edges), 3 (faces)
---
📤 Step 5: Export from Blender
**Export settings:**
- Limit to selected objects: Yes
- Geometry → Apply Modifier: No
- Bones → Add Leaf Bones: No
- Bones → Add Deformed Bones: Yes
- Animation: No
Make sure you select the correct objects and in the correct order for export.
---
🔄 Step 6: Import FBX into FLVER file
**Preparation:**
- Download the "BD_M_TEMPLATE.flver" template file
- Rename template file to match original FLVER file name
**Import process:**
- Open template FLVER using FLVER editor
- Click "Import Model" to import FBX
- Refer to the setup picture for correct configuration.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
