About this mod Machine translation
wandering soul
V0.1.6 version:
Add support for sekiro
Remove meaningless infinite mode
some small changes
Dark Souls III's enemy randomizer, even multiple enemies
This mod can randomize the following:
Normal enemies
Boss (requires -o or -m parameter)
NPC (requires -f or -a parameter)
Multiply the enemy 2~9 times (requires -2~-9 parameters)
It randomizes these characters by directly modifying the map file, so once installed, no more manipulation is required
Note that randomizing bosses and NPCs is a bit different than randomizing enemies, it doesn't change their positions, it clones them and randomizes those clones. There is no reward for defeating these clones. It's not intentional but is a limitation of the Dark Souls III game engine
However, if you want to enjoy a more exciting and strenuous journey, it can be a considerable choice
BTW, since I'm not a native English speaker, please tolerate grammatical errors, you can also report them in post f
Installation
Download UXM from or JKAnderson/UXM
Decompress DS3 using UXM
Run StraySouls.exe
(Optional) Type backup to back up the original mapping file
Input Random to randomize enemies
Use UXM patching, remember to exit DS3 before patching
Enjoy your new journey!
For example, "enter << random -m -o -3" means randomize normal enemies, including major and optional bosses, but keep friendly and aggressive NPCs, and then multiply those randomized enemies three times
Uninstall
If you have backed up
Run StraySouls.exe
Type restore
Packaging using UXM
if you don't have
OnSlaught provides vanilla files
Replace files in ..\DARK SOULS III\map\mapstudio\ with vanilla files
Packaging using UXM
Replacement means you should not delete other files
punishment
Since this mod doesn't modify your save file, it shouldn't penalize you. But according to UXM's description, this is just an assumption
FAQ
Q: Is it compatible with OnSlaught?
Answer: Yes, if you are using a version after v0.1.3-alpha, you can get the multiplication function using the -2~-9 parameters, otherwise, before randomizing Q, first drag the file from OnSlaught to the mapstudio folder. Is it compatible with any rule modules (Irregulator, etc.)?
Answer: Yes, they modified the Data0.bhd file, there shouldn't be any conflicts
question. Is it compatible with CE scripts (Item Randomizer etc.)?
Answer: Yes, they modify at runtime, this mod changes files directly
question
This mod is still under construction. There may be some nasty cases that I haven't encountered.
Be prepared to use some technology (CE, etc.) to handle them.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
