More personality depth
CK3's 36 personality traits never tell you how many traits a person possesses. An "angry" kind aunt and an "angry" tyrant who destroyed provinces, yet have the same image and the same point of view on punishment. "More Personality Depth" solves this problem. Each personality trait now has three levels - Mild, Normal and Strong - which improve the character's reputation, behavior and the court's reaction to them. The version of "Game Song" can be downloaded here
Three levels for each trait
Each of the 36 original character traits has an outline name:
Angry → irritable/angry/furious
greed → frugality / greed / greed
Compassionate → kind/compassionate/holy
sadism → cruelty/sadism/antisocial personality
Desire → Flirting / Desire / Pervert
…and 31 others.
Each level's character card has its own narrative description, similar in style to a court chronicler. The cantankerous lord "had a sharp tongue and a keener memory." The "wrath of the angry is whispered; even the faithful have learned to read the silence before the storm."
Big change of opinion
The biggest mechanical change is that the evaluation modifier will be adjusted with level. Mild qualities are barely noticeable at court, while strong qualities shape every interaction. Example - Narrow View Penalty for Angry Characters:
Mild (L1): -15
Normal (L2): -30
Strength (L3): -45
Coupled with culture-specific cultural penalties (such as looking down on angry cultures), an extremely angry ruler in a Stoic culture could be truly hated - just as the tyrant in the song should be.
childhood lock design
Each character is determined when they acquire the trait (mostly in childhood), and it remains the same. Impacts include:
Cultures (those that “value” or “despise” traits)
Faith (Virtue and Vice)
Guardian/Palace Tutor Traits
Parent characteristics
"Influence Guardian Personality" Interaction (BP2 DLC)
The wet nurse's active tasks (inculcate virtue/promote relationships/promote competition)
The result: Characters raised in matching environments are more likely to develop strong versions of culturally rewarded traits. An angry lord raised among warlike, warlike Vikings? More likely to be angry than an angry child raised by a stoic nerdy maester.
Adult Advancement - Landmark Event
In adulthood, weight may also increase through major life events:
Battles - Win enough battles to boost Valorant's strength; lose enough shifts and Craven
Championship Earned – Accumulated championships drive ambitious promotions
Conversion - Repeated conversions lift cynics upward
Successful murder plan - pushing deceit and ruthlessness upward
Stress Coping - Irritable/drunken/whipped people respond to events with heightened anger/gluttony/mania
Successful Pilgrimage - Upgrade for Zealots
Excommunicated - Extreme Cynicism
When a level shift is triggered, the character can accept the change (small reputation) or resist (moderate pressure, but the change still occurs). The AI weighs options based on stress levels and qualities of self-awareness.
AI prototype crunch
The economic archetype line (Warlike/Cautious/Builder/Pious Builder) in the "Character Summary" tooltip now requires having the trait at Common level (L2+) to count as a "Trait Shortcut" - light traits no longer push characters into the archetype alone. Strong characters naturally carry more weight.
compatibility

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
