Immersive Eras + Realistic Research Realistic Research
Immersive era + realistic research
This is a combination of immersive era and realistic research. Both versions are complete. No need to load two original mods.
Immersive era
Complete most technologies and citizens in each era in order to advance to the next level.
Both the Tech Tree and Civics Tree have been completely reorganized to maximize immersion.
Each era is unlocked with a key technology or Civic. (There is an exception in the Information Age technology tree, as it causes very long loading times.)
A navy's technical staff began in antiquity and ended in the Renaissance. Land-locked civilizations had no need for naval technology until they reached the industrial age.
An air unit technology series begins in the modern era and ends in the information age. Before the Information Age, air unit technicians could be avoided but were still required to complete the technology tree.
Now the AI is forced to research everything in the hope that it can take advantage of all available units.
Research costs only need to change when balancing.
This mod is designed to be compatible with all mods that do not make changes to the Tech tree or Civics tree.
---------------
Realistic research
The purpose of this mode is to make Eurekas and Inspirations more important to progression through the Tech and Civics trees.
Techs and Civics are now 2 times more expensive. In other words, promotion is now even more important.
Eurekas and Inspirations are now 75% improved. This can give you an idea of the cost of base game enhancements.
Some changes have been made to Eurekas and Inspiration for gameplay and realism.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
