Azimuthal Earth with TSL 122x100
Azimuthal Equal-Area Earth(AEAE)
Here I might present a new real earth for Civ 6.
It always annoys me that there is so much unused space in the northern part of the world map, mostly because the projection distorts it. This one doesn't twist around the pole and has direct connections from Europe to Asia and the US just like they do in real life.
The Southern Hemisphere is squashed this way (although no area is lost), but we only have Brazil and Jingo to the south.
Its functions are as follows:
122x100 map size (including custom map size types)
Since most civilizations are in the Northern Hemisphere, the equal-area azimuthal projection of the Earth is centered on the North Pole
The true starting location of all civilizations except Poland
10 city-states in all games, randomly selected, most using TSL, except for a few Europeans (see below)
All natural wonders except Galapagos
10 prophets
It is still an alpha and bugs may occur.
Instructions: Extract the .rar into your mods folder and activate the mod ingame. Create a new game, go to Advanced and select AzimuthalEarth-Ruleset. Map size and type will be grayed out accordingly.
Important/known issues:
There is only one Greek spawn, so if you choose two, one will be randomly placed.
[Some AI will move away from their starting points (English, Greek, Norse, Aztecs) - fix not known yet]...most should be fixed by now.
I cut off most of Oceania because it requires a lot of ocean and adds little value to the gameplay. So I moved the Great Barrier Reef closer to Jakarta and Milford Sound to Norway.
I had to move the cliffs of Dover to Ireland because it couldn't be near the river (Themse)
Galapagos missing as resettlement bugged
Europe doesn't "scale up" or some nonsense, so it gets very crowded (like in real life). This is a design not a problem.
The starting location was unanimously chosen to be the country's modern capital, in order to tidy up some areas and spread civilization out. Details:(
Civilization [ingame Capital]->Real city name location)
Norway (Nidaros) -> Oslo
Germany (Aachen) -> Berlin
Russia (St. Petersburg) -> Moscow
Egypt (Ra-Kedet aka Alexandria) -> Kairo/Sues (canal cities)
Arabia (Kairo) -> Riad
Sumeria (Uruk) -> Bagdad
Skythia(Pokrovka) - >
Astana, Japan (Kyoto) ->
Tokyo, China (Xi'an) -> Beijing
Brazil (Rio) -> Brasilia
Kongo M'Banza Kongo -> Brazzaville/Kinshasa
Greece (Athens/Sparta) -> Istanbul/Constantinople (it is not the capital of Greece,
Some city-states from Europe changed their locations since they had no space in Europe, and balanced the map slightly:
Amsterdam -> Bangkok
Brussels -> Johannesburg
Genf - >
Kiddoris -> Galway (Ireland)
Valletta -> In the Azores
Preslaw -> Anchorage
Stockholm -> Chelyabinsk
The rest of the CS are on their TSL.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
