RenoDX - HDR - Color Grading

🎥 Video demonstration

---

RenoDX rewrites the game's DX12 shaders to add HDR and user control capabilities to the game. It uses the ReShade add-on API to connect to the game and does not require ReShade effects.

✨ Main functions

**Universal functions:**

  • 🎮 Graphics engine rewritten to support HDR
  • 🔧 Based on the ReShade add-on system to avoid the need for frequent patches after game updates
  • 🎛️ 3 customizable presets
  • ⚡ Live slider control
  • 💡 Paper white and UI brightness control
  • 🌈 Gamma correction, simulates 2.2 gamma in HDR or sRGB mode

**Tone Mapper:**

  • 🎨 Original (original tone mapper)
  • 🚀 RenoDRT Tone Mapper

**Color Grading:**

  • 📊 Exposure slider
  • ✨ Highlights slider
  • 🌑 Shadow Slider
  • ⚫ Contrast slider
  • 🌈 Saturation slider
  • 💎 Highlight saturation slider
  • 🎭 Color Grading Slider - Choose the blending strength of your color grading filter

📦 Installation Guide

  • Install ReShade 6.5.0 or higher that supports add-ons, **ReShade effects are not required**
  • Copy renodx-bmw.addon64 to the installation folder (the same folder as b1-Win64-Shipping.exe)
  • **IMPORTANT NOTE**: After launching the game for the first time, RenoDX will write the necessary lines into the game's Engine.ini file. Restart the game for RenoDX to take effect!
  • Press the `` key on your keyboard to access the ReShade UI
  • (Optional) Disable ReShade's default add-ons (general depth and effects runtime synchronization) and restart the game to restore performance (renoDX does not require these)

❓ FAQ

**Do I really need UE HDR cvars? **

Yes! Without these, the mod won't work!

**The game looks very dim, is this really HDR? **

By default, RenoDRT is configured to match vanilla SDR. You can adjust it to your liking. For a more "HDR" experience, you can try the HDR Look color grading preset.

**What advantages does this have over other HDR processing methods? **

The source from which the image is created is not the SDR image, but the original image from the game before it was converted to SDR. This allows information that was completely overexposed by the game's native SDR tone mapper to be displayed. This is not a post-processing of the SDR image, but a reprocessing of the native image.

**The game closes immediately, even if only ReShade is installed, what should I do? **

Try renaming ReShade's dxgi.dll to d3d12.dll

ℹ️ About RenoDX

RenoDX, the full name is "Renovation Engine for DirectX Games", is a toolset for modifying games. Currently it can replace shaders, inject buffers, add overlays, and write user settings to disk. Since RenoDX uses ReShade's add-on system, compatibility is expected to be quite broad.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
