About this mod Author’s original text
EasyMode
BepInEx plugin for Another Crab's Treasure that applies a simple difficulty cushion:
- Damage taken: configurable (default multiplier 0.5) via Player.ReduceDamage on HitEvent.damageMultiplier.
- Damage dealt: configurable (default multiplier 2) via Entity.ProcessHitEvent(HitEvent).
- Currency gain: configurable (default multiplier 3) via InventoryData.Wallet.AddCurrency(...).
Requirements
- BepInEx 5.x (e.g. Mod Manager).
Install
Install Mod Manager, or extract the zip so EasyMode.dll ends up under:
BepInEx/plugins/-EasyMode/
The package may also include 0Harmony.dll in the same folder so Harmony resolves correctly in every profile.
If nothing seems to work
- PC (Steam) + BepInEx 5 (Mono) — This mod targets the Mono Managed build, not IL2CPP.
- Check BepInEx/LogOutput.log for [EasyMode] lines and Harmony errors.
Build from source
- Copy BepInEx.dll, UnityEngine.dll, and UnityEngine.CoreModule.dll from your game into lib/ (see project file).
- Set ActManaged if your game is not at the default path in EasyMode.csproj, e.g. dotnet build -c Release -p:ActManaged="D:\Games\ACT\AnotherCrabsTreasure_Data\Managed".
- Run dotnet build -c Release.
- Run powershell -File tools/PackThunderstore.ps1 to produce dist/EasyMode-.zip (version from manifest.json).
Before publishing, set website_url/manifest.json and add dependencies as needed.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
- For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.
Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
