在被遺忘的淡水河谷深處，隱藏着一個早已被世界遺忘的祕密......

在時間之前，在Nirn之上發生了激烈的戰鬥。 Lorkhan，失蹤的上帝，與Trinamac，The Paragon和Auriel，時間的龍之神發生了衝突。雖然是Trinamac的拳頭和Auriel之弓對Trickster造成了最後的打擊，但另一件神器在那天看到了戰鬥。因爲Auriel儘可能地鬆開箭頭;但是當洛克漢在他身上時，他舉起盾牌揮舞着他的劍。據說這兩位衆神猛烈地搖晃着他們的刀刃，他們雕刻出了尚未完成的尼恩的景觀。

在Lorkhan被摧毀之後，Auriel將劍扔向他身下形成的新世界：即使Lorkhan背叛了他，他仍然是他的兄弟，他的血液在刀刃上閃閃發光，對於龍神來說太過分了。

Pirhelios, the Blade of Sun

Deep within the Forgotten Vale, lies a secret long forgotten by the world...

In time before time, a fierce battle took place above Nirn. Lorkhan, the Missing God, clashed with Trinamac, The Paragon, and Auriel, the Dragon God of Time. And while it was the fists of Trinamac and the Bow of Auriel that dealt the final blow to the Trickster, another artifact saw battle that day. For Auriel loosened arrows as long as he could; but when Lorkhan was upon him, he raised his shield and brandished his sword. It is said that the two gods swung and clashed their blades so fiercely, that they carved out the landscape of still unfinished Nirn.

After Lorkhan was sundered, Auriel flung his sword to the new world that took shape beneath him: even though Lorkhan betrayed him, he was still his brother, and the sight of his blood glistering upon the blade was too much for the Dragon God to bear.

The sword landed in a great frozen valley. There, its powerful energies drew the ancient Falmer towards it. It did not take long for the wisest among them to learn of the blade's origin. Seeing it as a sign, the ancient Falmer enshrined the blade, and built the Great Chantry of Auri-El, in honour of the most beloved of their gods.

For many centuries, the blade was as important as the Bow and the Shield. It was an inextinguishable flame, the source of pride and hope for the worshipers of Auri-El.

But all of that changed when Arch-Curate Vyrthur fell victim to the curse of vampirism. In his blind horror and despair, there was no reasoning with him. In an instant, he massacred the priests that were in the Chapel with him, before attempting to take the sword of Auriel. It was only in the last possible moment, that Prelate Mellenor used her last breath to raise the barrier around Auriel's sword and bind it to Vyrthur's life force, thus putting the blade out of maddened Arch-Curate's reach forever.

Unable to reach the sword, as trying to would cost him his un-life, Vyrthur tore the floor around it, and carried the pedestal along with the blade deeper within the temple. It is said that the final act of Prelate Mellenor removed the aura that unbeknownst to the Falmer covered the entire valley. No longer sensing the fire that guarded the Chantry, the Betrayed invaded.

And thus, the knowledge of Auriel's sword was lost to history. The only ones that know about it are Arch-Curate Vyrthur, …
