The Problem:

Our first encounter with Faralda of the College of Winterhold is rather shouty.  However, hidden behind this rude outcry is a far more civil, if not grumbly, conversation where she greets you politely and allows you to have a brief discussion with her. You can only find it if you first let her yell at you, go away, and then come back and talk with her again.  It doesn't have to be set up this way.

The Solution:

This mod simply moves the trigger which force-greets Faralda's outburst to a little bit behind her, so that you may approach her and initiate dialog and enjoy a far more pleasant first impression with one of the College's highest ranking members.  She will now only shout at you if you proceed past her without initiating dialog or without completing the entry test, which is a far more reasonable moment for her to become cross with you.

Please take note:

This mod is experimental.  I am pretty sure that it won't do anything crazy or break anything, but I'd like to hear from people who are testing it in order to make sure.

This mod will only work on a totally new game.

All fixes from the USSEP have been forwarded.

This mod is an ESL.  If you are Mod Manager, you may need to install it manually, or upgrade to Vortex or MO2.

Tested with Better College Application.  It works!

Q: Will this mod work with XYZ?

A: It should!  As this mod is an ESL, it will load before 99.99% of your load order, so any and all changes it makes to the Tamriel worldspace will be overwritten by those mods, as they should be.  This mod only edits the trigger volume MG05WinterholdTriggerRef, so it will only conflict with other mods that edit that volume.  If they do, it's probably for a far more important reason than this mod's, so you should probably not use this mod and let that one do its work.:)

Q: Why won't this mod work on a game in progress?

A: All of the data on the trigger which controls Faralda's force-greet are stored in your save game as soon as the player enters the Tamriel worldspace - which includes the game's introduction …
