Provide gentle failure handling for YAPYAP - items will be recovered if the evacuation fails, and files will not be deleted if the three-night mission fails.
Function
Item recovery after failed evacuation
- Retain the original behavior of "falling from the player to the world first"
- By default, all dropped items that meet the conditions are recycled and can be obtained at the recycling center
- The recovery rate can be selected on the in-game settings page: 0% 25% 50% 75% 100%
- Respect original item blacklist, item status and network generation rules
Task failed to save
When you fail to get full marks on the three-night mission:
Reserve Save Slot · Gold · Inventory · Equipment · Hub Items · Basement Key · Grimoire Progress · Quest Levels and Objectives · Total Turns
Reset session score → 0, re-challenge the same level task from night 1
- Maintain the original process when completing the task successfully
- Preserve the complete Game Over animation, interface and Host reconstruction, only skip the save slot deletion in the failed process
- Will not trigger the file deletion logic of modules such as FrogDataLib
In-game settings
Enter Settings → SaveGuard tab:
| Setting items | Type | Default value | Optional value |
|---|:---:|---:|---|
| Task failed archive | Switch | On | |
| Item recovery rate | Drop down | 100% | 0% 25% 50% 75% 100% |
The interface uses the game's native control style, and the configuration is saved in the BepInEx configuration file and does not overwrite the original settings.

Known limitations
- Blacklisted items will not enter the recycling list
- Items that are not idle during recycling may not be moved back to the lobby.
- Lobby items are subject to the original persistence rules and quantity limit
- After the game UI is updated, the settings page may need to be adapted.

A gentle safety net for YAPYAP — recover dropped items after a failed extraction, keep your progress when you miss quota
Features
Failed Extraction Item Recovery
- Preserves the vanilla "items drop to the ground first" flow
- All eligible dropped items are recovered by default — grab them at the recovery point
- Recovery rate adjustable in-game: 0% 25% 50% 75% 100%
- Respects vanilla item blacklists, prop states, and network spawning rules
Quota Failure Protection
If you fall short of the quota after three nights:
Preserved Save slot · Gold · Inventory · Equipment · Hub props · Basement key · Grimoire progress · Quota tier & goal · Total rounds played
Reset Session score → 0, restart from Night 1 on the same quota tier
- Meeting the quota works exactly as in vanilla
- The full Game Over sequence plays normally — only the save-slot deletion is skipped
- Won't interfere with FrogDataLib or other mods that hook DeleteSlot
In-Game Settings
Open Settings → SaveGuard tab:
| Setting | Type | Default | Options |
|---|:---:|---:|---|
| Keep save after mission failure | Toggle | On | |
| Item recovery rate | Dropdown | 100% | 0% 25% 50% 75% 100% |
Uses native-style UI controls. Stored in the BepInEx config — does not touch vanilla PlayerPrefs

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
- For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.
Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
