Yap Health Bar is a BepInEx plug-in for YAPYAP. It displays a 3D health bar and floating word damage above the enemy's head, making it convenient to observe the battle process and debug the damage value.
Yap Health Bar is a BepInEx plugin for YAPYAP that renders a 3D health bar and floating damage text above enemies, making combat and damage debugging more readable.
Features
- Display a 3D health bar above the enemy's head, automatically following and facing the camera
- Display damage text (Damage Text)
- Automatically calculate the health bar position based on the size and height of the enemy, which can be fine-tuned in the configuration
- Based on BepInEx + Harmony, no need to modify the original game files
Installation
- Make sure the game is properly installed with BepInEx 5.
- Compile or obtain Yap_HealthBar.dll.
- Copy Yap_HealthBar.dll to:
- Recommended path: BepInEx\plugins\health bar\
- or any subfolder you like (e.g. BepInEx\plugins\Yap_HealthBar\).
- Launch the game and confirm that the Yap Health Bar MOD loaded successfully! log appears in the BepInEx console.
Configuration
The plug-in generates a configuration file (usually located in the BepInEx\config\ directory) when it is run for the first time.
Examples of main configuration items:
- ExtraHeightOffset/increase offset
- Description: Based on the automatic calculation of the enemy's height, the health bar is additionally shifted upward (unit: meters).
- Purpose: If the heads of some enemies are blocked or too low, you can increase this value appropriately.
You can adjust this value multiple times while the game is running, and it will take effect after re-entering the level until you find a visual effect you are satisfied with.
Usage
After the plug-in is loaded, you can see the enemy's health bar and damage floating words during the battle without additional operations:
- When attacking an enemy, the health bar will change simultaneously.
- When receiving damage, the damage value will be displayed briefly above the head
- The health bar will be automatically hidden when there is no combat in a short period of time to avoid cluttering the screen
This mod works automatically once installed:
- Health bars update when enemies take damage
- Floating damage numbers appear briefly above enemies
- Bars fade out when there is no recent combat to keep the view clean
Compatibility & Feedback
- Hook game logic in read-only mode, without modifying the archive
- Theoretically compatible with most other BepInEx MODs
- If you encounter compatibility issues or have suggestions for improvements, you can re-develop the source code of this project or modify the configuration yourself
If you run into issues, conflicts with other mods, or have feature ideas, feel free to tweak the source and config to fit your own setup.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
- For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.
Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
