Controller support using XCom-1-EU Controlls - XPADDER-Profil and GameConfigs - compatible with latest patches
INI change Xbox controller key using Xpadder and Xcom 2
- Combining the FreeCameraRotation Mod with the new X-Padder settings and INI-changes will bring back the X-Com 1 controller settings.
Install V11.2:
- Use standard-key-config in the game!
- Get xpadder: http://xpadder.com/ ---Install it as an autor It is recommended that you
- Configure your gamepad
- Open X-Box-Controller-Support - Xpadder-Profile and necessary INIChanges - Patches - V11.2-28 -V11-2.rar
- Select my profile from rar-file (xPADDERprofile/XCOM2_XCONTROL_2016-03-11-Patch_V11.2.xpadderprofile), unzip it to where you want and load it into x-padder (don't miss the little less keybindings, this is normal and done by the INI file!!)
- Extract the contents of the "XCOM 2" directory to...\steamapps\common\XCOM 2\ (overwriting all files)
- Extract the contents of the "My Games" directory to... \Users\...\Documents\My Games\ (overwrite all files)
==> Set XComInput.ini to write-protect (in...\My Games\XCOM2\XComGame\Config)
- Select XBOXC Mod @startup (this is the old version of the FreeCameraRotation Mod required to use D-PAD rotation) in V11.2
Key-Config:(Orange News)
- A-Key: will perform all actions in the game, hover over the button => A-press will activate it, select button/menu with D-Pad => A-press will activate it
So A-Kay is ENTER and LeftMouseButton, this will work fine after some changes and bring back normal usage back to us!
==> Buye, selling or giving something away in production requires moving above the button and using X-Key (LeftMouseButton)
==>Avatar Mission must be accepted or toggled by moving over the area to select and accept button X-KEY
==> After you have upgraded a soldier, the mission also needs to be vacuumed, move the cursor to the "LevelUp Button" and X-KEY to start
==> An engeneer is added to the facility and a soldier is added to the Shore Requires Vacuuming Move the cursor over "Field" and use X-Key to activate
- A-Key: During combat with soldier movement, you must press it for more than 0.2 seconds before there is any other way to use A-Key for post-patch movement
- Back Button: Hitting it will reactivate your weapon, hitting it for more than 0.3 seconds will end the turn. ==>Fixed and used for 11.2
- Entering the operation menu is done through the right trigger (such as shooting in other games)
Performing actions is done by A-Key, you can use
- Use right/left shoulder buttons to toggle action buttons (keys 1,2,3....)
- Target change done by D-Pad left/right (slightly longer pess > 0,2 seconds)
- Changing player is also made by L/R-Shoulder button
- If you press D-Pad Up/Down to zoom in and out, if pressed for longer than 0.3 seconds (this will change the floor evenly, so adjust the floor after zooming)
- Mouse movement by R-Stick
- Focus on select targets/players made by L-Strick-Click
- R-Stick-Click is mapped to Key "1"
==>So you will go to the world map and mission control click on the R-Stick
- Y will result in "Covering Fire" (Feuerschutz)
- Rotation will be done by D-Pad left/right (don't exceed it than 0,2 seconds, otherwise it will change the player)
- Move through the Base with the mouse and quickly change facilities using the left and right shoulder keys
- Camera view made with L-Stick...try it just like using normal configured Gamepad in X-Com-1.
The only things you have to endure are:
- To move the soldier to the mouse-cursor-position you need to press A for more than 0.2 seconds.
(If this doesn't work for you, mapp X-Key to RightMouseButton in X-Padder)
- Switching targets via D-Pad-L/R requires a key press within 0.2 seconds.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
