What is Vigilo Confido?
Vigilo Confido is a game remodel of XCOM 2. Starting off as a personal project first, I didn't initially intend to make my changes public. However, I feel like I can bring a unique experience to people and also grow my skills.
VC focuses on enhancing, improving and adding to XCOM 2's vanilla features, making the game more difficult, implementing and adding your favorite mods, and future implementation mechanics.
What exactly has changed?
Starting squad is now 6 instead of 4
Enemies have been redesigned to be tougher. Some people redesign it to be more professional
Implement additional mods for expanded game mechanics
Difficulties of Redesigning a Vanilla Game
Completely reconstructed experience system based on linear values
Missions now give XP unlike vanilla
Longer time to research and prove ground projects!
The list of changes is in the README tab! Will be updated with every new version
Install:
Note: Some versions may be compatible with previous version saves, so starting a new game with each new version of VC is recommended
Note: Do not use LEADER PACK MOD. Soldier Fatigue Mod uses Leader Pack mod causing UI issues
- Use 7zip to extract Vigilo Confido, which can be obtained from
- Place the extracted content in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2\XComGame\Mods
- Launch XCOM 2 and select "VIGILOCONFIDO" via the launcher, and any mod you want to play with!
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
