This fixes the squad select screen on ultrawide monitors to ensure the UI is aligned with squad members.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When using this mod with BlueRaja's larger starting groups or more squad upgrade mods, be sure to go into the configuration file (.ini) for those mods and change the setting "TryToFitEveryoneOnSquadSelectScreen" from true to false. Without it bad things can happen and make mods not play well with each other.

Yes you would disable TryToFitEveryonOnSquadSelectScreen.
Also from various tests I have concluded that my mods tend to work best with other mods when loaded last. When my mod finally loads, I tend to notice no compatibility issues compared to other mods. For example, when I load my mod first and then Show Me The Skills sometimes the ui is set to normal y level so the extra ui added from Show Me The Skills overlaps with the buttons at the bottom of the screen. BlueRaja has a detailed discussion thread on how mod load order works
This fixes the squad select screen for ultrawide monitors to ensure the UI is aligned with squad members. I also wanted to make sure this mod works even with normal aspect ratios (4:3, 16:9, 16:10) in case you need to use a different non-ultrawide screen for some reason. In my experience with mods for XCOM 2, it won't let you load saves that were previously used with mods that are now disabled. So I don't want the user to be unable to make the current save if he/she needs to switch monitors.
This mod also fixes the After Action UI (the screen when the squad returns from combat) so that it aligns correctly on (21:9) monitors.
Currently this only works in single player. After I uploaded it, I realized I'd overlooked the multiplayer. I tried to fix it quickly but it didn't work so once I figure it out I will update this mod to fix the UI of the squad editor for multiplayer.
In the configuration file (XComUISquadSelect_UltraWideFix.ini) steamapps\workshop\content\268500\624476027\Config\XComUISquadSelect_UltraWideFix.ini:
LIST_WIDTH_BY_SLOTS
----The default value is 6.
---- Used to set the width of the list in terms of number of slots, many slots will be displayed before a scrollbar is required
REORDERSLOTS
---Default value is false
---If set to true, it will reorder the slots to ensure that the default 6 is always consistent with the model. Should be used in combination when LIST_WIDTH_BY_SLOTS is greater than 6 to allow correct slot alignment.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
