About this mod Machine translation
A smaller mod that changes the text to make it more consistent and realistic.
Please note: I will be changing a lot of text. This includes rankings, nicknames, action names, etc. Newly recruited things on the map will be changed to "New Freedom Fighters" and so on. This shouldn't affect other mods that don't change text (so far I've had True Concealment with no issues. SMG mod, Muton, Leader, and Premium items). If problems do occur, try closing the mods, saving, and then reopening them.
I made sure to get the op names like Burning Fire and Death/Death and make them more consistent, you still get the weird zany op names.
I also changed the ranking to be more like freedom fighters and less military.
Future plans:
- Different types of operation names add more variation and make it harder to see the same combination twice.
- Side action names, mostly humorous. (last thing to do)
- The side operation names will involve names like CAH. (last thing to do)
- Shortened the target list so it's "kill the enemy" instead of "kill all remaining soldiers" to clean up the mess.
- Changed the names of various things to make the game feel more like a fight for Earth's freedom rather than a group of contracts.
- New continent names. Our alien overlords decided they needed new names.
- New city name and description.
- Diversity of name generator as most countries have mixed races.
- Changed briefing instructions for some tasks.
- Change icon name. Gain intel for Recon, Rookies, and more by recruiting freedom fighters. Finish.
- Fixed grammatical errors in the original game. (To be taken seriously, there is still a lot of work to be done.)
- Remove floating apostrophe after name. Should never happen again.
- No yelling. (Get rid of unnecessary sentences, just capitalize letters and make them lowercase.)
- Renamed PCS and weapon attachments.
Install:
- Copy the XComgame.ini file to \XComGame\Localization and save it as a backup.
- Copy XComgame.ini to the downloaded folder and replace it.
- Launch the game.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
