Show hit rate
If you're like me, not knowing the likelihood of your Overwatch shot hitting is extremely frustrating. Are you being robbed by RNGesus or are your soldiers firing hard? Likewise, are you positioning yourself to give the aliens a good chance, or are they just lucky? If so, this is the mod for you.
Currently, this mode works for most, if not all, abilities that can deal direct damage. It might be possible to create a version that would give you something like Mind Control login, but it looks like it would require me to override a bunch of in-game functionality and generally mess up the base class. I really don't want to do this as it could cause compatibility issues with the mod, but if demand arises I could consider making a separate version from this mod with these features.
Install
To install, extract the contents of the download file to the <XCOM2 install>\XComGame\Mods folder. Or if you prefer a steam workshop, the link is here.
Any questions please post here, not on Steam. On Steam, it's hard to track bugs, so it would make my life easier and make me less likely to forget/miss your issue entirely in the Steam comments.
uninstall
Please note that currently uninstalling any mod will destroy save games you have loaded using the mod activity. Be aware of this when installing any mod.
Configuration
Certain settings of the mod can be configured. Settings can be changed by opening the XCOMDisplayHitChance.ini file in the Config folder. The settings that can be changed are:
Enable/disable mod (enabled by default)
Shows missed chances instead of hit rate (default shows hit rate)
Use a longer description (only numbers are shown by default)
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
