Soldiers have their own unique voices, close to Mass Effect

Tired of having the exact same sound with soldiers using the same lines, with only slight tonal differences? Do you like your soldiers to be more personalized, do you want them to have actual personalities? Are you a Mass Effect fan? If you answered yes to these questions, then this plugin is for you.

Mass Effect - 2 Shepard Voicepacks for XCOM2 Soldiers

Current version: 1.0 (will be updated in the future, currently only uses sounds from the XCOM1 version of the mod - but don't worry, every action is responsive)

The XCOM2 Voicepack will use quite a few additional voice prompts, not featured in the video (once I find the time to overhaul them)

troubleshooting:

  • If you want to disable the voice pack that appears on random newbies, open the XCOMContent.ini mod (in the mod folder) and change the language to anything except English or other languages (UNTESTED, confirmation required)
  • Regarding the lack of radio filter - some people like it and some don't (including me, even though I'm in the minority lol. I'll prepare one with

Version of Radio Filter I'm going to finish converting all the old stuff from XCOM:EU to XCOM2.

and replace the original with it.

  • If the game crashes using the preview button (in the armory) then most likely you are using an expired version (release version) of the game and you need to download all available hotfixes/patches

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
